Warehouse Lead/Backup CDL Driver - 2nd Shift Noon to 8:30PM

We are looking to hire a Warehouse Lead and back up CDL driver for our Daniels’ medical waste treatment facility in Baton Rouge. A Lead has a widely varying role, from checking in containers, double checking paperwork, moving/unloading specific waste containers, and operating a forklift to load an autoclave. Additionally, our Lead will occasionally drive our box truck (26 feet) to collect sharps and medical waste containersfrom our healthcare customer locations and delivering a high level of customer service daily.

What will your job involve?

• Supervises all production activities ensuring their successful completion
• Loads and unloads trucks and trailers on site to ensure all transports are prepared in a timely manner for our next load
• Prepares and packs customer orders for transport and moving trucks
• Manages training and assists employees and new hires
• Enforces a high standard of finish across all products with outstanding attention to detail
• Adheres to budgets, time schedules and deadlines
• Oversees and enforces OSHA requirements
• Leads and motivates staff
• Pushes continuous improvement in workplace safety, production efficiency, product cost & customer satisfaction
• Promotes & maintains a clean workplace that is 'audit' ready at any given time
• Supports Plant Supervisor with day to day operations and additional duties
• Operating 26 ft box truck in a safe manner
• Safely collect, deliver and store our medical waste containers at customer locations
• Providing strong customer service and building positive customer relationships
• Completing deliveries to time schedule and clearly communicating changes
• Complying with DOT regulations, logging hours and roadside inspections
• Pushing/pulling a four-wheeled cart that weighs as much as 200lbs!!

What are we looking for?

• 1 + years of previous lead experience is preferred
• Ability to manage a wide variety of activities at the same time
• Ability to plan, analyze and challenge team
• Able to work cross functionally and collaboratively with many stakeholders
• Class B license with a clean driving record and VALID DOT MEDICAL CARD
• Minimum 3 years experience operating 26 foot box truck
• Passing our 7 Year FADV review in the Drug & Alcohol Clearinghouse
• Experience with pre-trip and post-trip vehicle evaluations
• Experience with DOT compliance, logging hours, roadside inspections
• Can-do attitude with a strong customer focus
• Proven longevity in past employment
• TOUCH FREIGHT EXPERIENCE!!!
