This role is responsible for safely loading, unloading, transporting, storing, and tracking materials while helping maintain an organized, efficient, and safety-conscious work environment. The Forklift Operator plays a key role in ensuring materials are available where needed and that inventory is accurately managed.\nResponsibilities\nEssential Responsibilities:\nSafely operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment in accordance with company policies and safety procedures.\nLoad and unload trucks, trailers, and delivery vehicles.\nMove, stage, organize, and store materials throughout the warehouse, yard, and facility.\nReceive, inspect, and verify incoming materials and shipments.\nMaintain accurate inventory, material movement, and receiving records.\nComplete daily equipment inspections and promptly report maintenance or safety concerns.\nFollow OSHA regulations, company safety policies, and established operating procedures.\nAssist with inventory counts and material audits as needed.\nKeep work areas clean, organized, and free of hazards.\nSupport general warehouse, shipping, receiving, and material-handling duties as assigned.\nQualifications\nQualifications\nPrevious forklift, warehouse, shipping/receiving, or material-handling experience preferred.\nAbility to successfully complete required forklift certification and training.\nBasic math, inventory, and record-keeping skills.\nAbility to read and follow written instructions, labels, and material documentation.\nStrong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety.\nReliable attendance, dependability, and ability to work assigned schedules.\nAbility to work independently and as part of a team.\nAbility to successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen and any other applicable pre-employment requirements.\nPhysical Requirements\nSit, stand, walk, bend, kneel, reach, and climb throughout the workday.\nFrequently enter and exit forklift equipment.\nRegularly lift, carry, push, and pull materials weighing up to 50 pounds.\nUse hands and fingers to operate controls and handle materials safely.\nAbility to safely operate equipment using vision, hearing, depth perception, and coordination.\nWork indoors and outdoors in varying weather and environmental conditions.\nWork Environment\nWarehouse, manufacturing, storage yard, and loading dock environments.\nRegular exposure to moving equipment, machinery, noise, dust, and temperature fluctuations.\nRequired use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, gloves, high-visibility clothing, and safety footwear as required.\nDisclaimer\nThis job description describes the general nature and level of work performed by employees assigned to this position.
