The position works closely with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Quality, and IT. IT infrastructure and enterprise systems remain owned by the IT function; this role provides operational input, coordination, and system expertise to support them.\nKey Responsibilities\nAutomation & Production Systems\nDevelop, maintain, and optimise PLC, HMI, SCADA, and MES-related automation systems supporting production performance (e.g. OEE, SAP PM interfaces).\nTroubleshoot automation, electrical, and process control issues across production and utilities.\nEnsure high availability and reliable performance of automated equipment in a regulated food environment.\nAct as the production automation interface to IT by providing requirements, impact assessments, testing support, and coordination for system changes.\nFood Safety, Quality & Compliance\nEnsure automation solutions comply with HACCP, hygienic design principles, and Danish Crown standards.\nSupport QEHS compliance, legal obligations, and internal governance.\nParticipate in risk assessments, validation, and controlled change processes for automation changes.\nContinuous Improvement & Reliability\nDrive CI initiatives targeting efficiency, uptime, yield, and waste reduction.\nApply RCA, FMECA, RCM, and CBM methods to reduce recurring failures.\nSupport LEAN ways of working, site performance boards, and problem-solving routines.\nCAPEX & Project Delivery\nProvide automation input to CAPEX projects including scope definition, functional specifications, commissioning, and handover.\nCoordinate with IT where projects affect IT-managed systems.\nManage suppliers, system integrators, and contractors within the automation scope.\nMaintenance & Technical Governance\nSupport specialist automation maintenance activities and standards.\nDevelop and maintain SOPs and work instructions.\nAct as CMMS (SAP PM) super-user from an automation and maintenance perspective.\nSupport design reviews, upgrades, and obsolescence management.\nCollaboration & Capability Building\nWork closely with operations, maintenance, engineering, quality, and IT teams.\nTrain and coach operators and technicians in automation systems and process optimisation.\nSupport peer-site collaboration and external supplier engagement.\nRequired Education & Experience\nDegree in Automation, Electrical, Mechanical, or Process Engineering or a relevant technical apprenticeship with strong automation specialisation.\nExperience in automation or engineering roles within food, FMCG, or regulated manufacturing environments.\nHands-on experience with PLC, HMI, SCADA, MES environments and CMMS systems (preferably SAP PM).\nTechnical Knowledge & Competencies\nStrong understanding of HACCP, hygienic design, and food manufacturing constraints.\nExperience with reliability engineering and LEAN principles.\nStructured problem-solving, strong communication skills, and the ability to challenge constructively.\nSolid digital literacy and ability to work effectively alongside IT-owned systems.","description_format":"text","description_chars":3457,"description_truncated":false,"requirements":{"experience_years_min":null,"management_years_min":null,"team_size_min":null,"manages_managers":false,"education":null,"security_clearance":false,"languages":[]},"benefits":[],"hiring_locations":[],"hiring_excludes":[],"relocation_offered":false,"industries":["Meat & Poultry","Wholesale"],"lifecycle":[{"event":"open","at":"2026-10-11T07:19:24Z"}],"visa":[{"country":"GB","licensed_sponsor":true,"evidence":"Licensed UK visa sponsor (Senior or Specialist Worker, Skilled Worker)","filings_12m":null,"filings_prev_12m":null,"green_card_filings_12m":null,"median_offered_wage_usd":null,"route":"Global Business Mobility: Senior or Specialist Worker;
