This is a unique opportunity to influence key technology decisions and help build the next generation of AML solutions at scale.\nWhat you will be doing\nAs a Chief Data Engineer, you will lead technical direction for a strategic AML data platform that processes large and complex datasets to support critical financial crime prevention. Working with an international engineering organisation, you will collaborate closely with engineers, architects, Product Owners, and business stakeholders to deliver scalable, secure, and high-performing solutions.\nLead technical architecture and engineering evolution of the AML data platform\nDesign and develop scalable data processing solutions for complex datasets\nDrive engineering standards through coding practices and continuous improvement initiatives\nLead platform modernisation and cloud transformation using AWS and Databricks\nEstablish DevOps, CI/CD, and software engineering best practices\nCollaborate with stakeholders to translate business needs into technical solutions\nEnsure governance, security, resilience, and operational stability of the platform\nMentor engineers and build a strong data engineering community\nAbout you\n5+ years of experience in Data Engineering or Platform Engineering\nStrong expertise with Apache Spark, SQL, and one or more of Scala, Java, or Python\nExperience building large-scale distributed data platforms and processing solutions\nExperience with cloud technologies, preferably AWS and Databricks\nExperience with CI/CD pipelines, Git, and Infrastructure as Code\nAbility to lead complex technical initiatives across teams\nStrong understanding of data architecture, security, and governance\nStrong stakeholder management and mentoring skills\nExperience within AML, Financial Crime Prevention, or regulated environments would be valued.
