This requires close collaboration with management, operations, controls, CAD, and construction teams. Projects will be followed through from planning to execution.\nEssential Duties/Responsibilities\nNothing in this job description restricts management’s right to assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time.\nDrives projects independently from initial concept through to the installation phase, executing handoffs to internal construction teams.\n\nSize, select, and specify critical process equipment including rendering machinery, pumps, fans, conveyors, air scrubbing equipment, heat exchangers, and steam boilers.\n\nGenerates comprehensive project scope documents and highly accurate cost estimates for capital expenditure submissions.\n\nOversees plant layouts and generate essential engineering documents, including P&IDs, PFDs, heat and mass balances, and detailed equipment, motor, and instrumentation lists.\n\nDirects and guide the CAD design team. Build highly productive, collaborative relationships with internal controls and construction teams, as well as external contractors and vendors.\n\nEngineers technical solutions to overcome process and installation obstacles, whether adapting a standard chemical scrubber or designing a completely novel plant workflow.\n\nThis job will not have direct supervisory responsibilities, but will work closely with corporate management and division management when performing duties.\n\nOther duties as assigned\n\nMinimum Qualifications\nBachelor of science degree from an accredited college - mechanical engineering strongly preferred.\n\n5+ years of experience in an engineering role involving equipment, buildings, machinery, process piping, cooling systems, combustion systems, pneumatics, power distribution, PLCs, drives, and other systems in a heavy manufacturing environment, rendering, or food industry experience preferred\n\nHigh proficiency in CAD software, preferably AutoCAD and Inventor.\n\nStrong work ethic and high degree of initiative.\nHighly organized with superior time management.\n\nExceptional written and oral communication skills to bridge the gap between engineering, construction, and management\n\nAbove average computer skills in a networked environment with knowledge of MS Office products\n\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience in change management and in working across functional lines and organizations is ideal\n\nBackground in concrete foundations and structural steel a plus\n\nWorking Conditions and Physical Demands\nPosition is based in an office environment\nFrequently travels to off-site locations is required.\nRequires prolonged sitting and movement throughout office/work locations, as well as occasional use of computers and office equipment.\nMust occasionally stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and climb or balance.\nMust be able to communicate effectively and identify potential workplace hazards.\nRequires the ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to
