This includes a proactive effort to track regulatory developments which could have an impact on the corporation.\nProvide environmental engineering, technical, and administrative support to the field in an effort to assure regulatory compliance, resolve compliance related issues, and find technological improvements which provide an economic benefit to the corporation.\nProvide environmental engineering, technical, and administrative support to the field operations related to acquiring, maintaining, and renewing environmental permits and plans.\nProvide capital project development and management support, as needed, in the areas of wastewater treatment, and other related projects working closely with, and in support of, Corporate Engineering Department.\nCommunications -- Interact and communicate with other Environmental Affairs Department personnel on an as needed basis; communications with field management is frequent and on an as needed basis. The position acts primarily as a support function to the field, providing wastewater operations regulatory guidance and technical support. Certain decisions are made independent of the Director of Wastewater Engineering.\nBusiness Environment - Position requires managing information and tasks of a very technical and complex nature, demanding the incumbent have or develop a strong familiarity with all processing facets of the business. Also required to manage and work across all the functional areas of the corporation; decisions and guidance from the function can have very significant economic impacts on operating budgets and operational goals and objectives. Very visible both internally and externally adding to the significance of the incumbent's role in the corporation.\nInternal and External Relationships - Interact internally and communicate with corporate management and their respective departments, and with Field VP's, General Managers, Plant Managers, Wastewater Operators, etc. Externally will interact and communicate with Environmental and Engineering Consultants and Contractors, Service Providers, and Regulatory Agencies.\nMinimum Qualifications\nBachelor of Science degree in Engineering.\nMinimum of 2+ years of relevant experience, to include some or all of the following:Water and wastewater treatment engineering and design;\nWater and wastewater permitting;\nWastewater treatment system operation;\nLand application of treated waste streams, remediation technologies, soil & ground water monitoring, wastewater laboratory analysis.\n\nPreferred Qualifications\nGraduate work/Master's degree preferred.\nProfessional Engineer certification or the ability to obtain within four years.\nFive to ten years of experience in wastewater treatment design.\nOperations and work experience in the food processing industry.\nStrong verbal and written communication skills.\nSelf-starter with the ability to act independently.\nAbility to manage multiple tasks and disciplines simultaneously.\nWork well with all levels of the corporation.\nAutoCad experience.\nPhysical Demands/ Work Environment\nFrequently required to walk, stand, sit, climb, balance, stoop, bend, and kneel\nFrequently lifts up to 10 lbs.\nLong periods spent sitting at desk in front of computer screen.\nRegularly required to reach with hands and arms.\nJob functions will be carried out in an office environment.
