Provide visible leadership and direction to plant operations and employees.\n\nSupport and maintain an effective relationship with the QA Department, coordinating efforts to consistently produce high quality product.\nTrain production personnel, and/or insure proper training by other senior production personnel. Provide all necessary information to employees relative to Hazard Communication, Safety Rules, Work and Conduct Rules, Good Manufacturing Practices, etc.\nReview production paperwork for completeness and correctness.\nInspect machines and equipment to ensure specific operational performance and optimum utilization.\nAssist in development or revise standard operational and working practices and observe workers to ensure compliance with standards.\nSupervises staff to include training (production, equipment, quality, and safety), evaluating performance including input on annual employee evaluations, and determining disciplinary actions when necessary.\nAssists with coordinating various plant departments to ensure efficient and effective production operations.\nBack up Plant Superintendent in performing scheduling personnel and resources.\nResponds to employee and management questions and concerns.\nEnsures production schedules, quality initiatives, safety targets, efficiency metrics and other operational measurements are met for the functions.\nTroubleshoot and resolve product flow and production upset conditions or otherwise.\nServe as back up for the Production Superintendent and Warehouse Supervisor and be able to perform all corresponding work.\nExecutes 5S and Lean Manufacturing (Continuous Improvement) efforts and events through various areas and departments across the company.\nOther duties as assigned\n\nMinimum Qualifications\nBachelor's degree (4-year program) in a related field and 1-3 years of related experience; OR\nHigh School diploma or GED equivalent and a minimum of 5-7 years related experience or training.\nPreferred Qualifications\nExcellent problem-solving skills.\nGood communication skills both oral and written.\nTeam player;
