The holder of this position will supervise the rendering production facility in Winnipeg, Manitoba with a focus on health and safety activities, product quality and optimize the use of resources. The successful candidate will also promote staff development.\nSCHEDULE: Winnipeg supervisors operate under 12 HR rotation, 80 hours every two weeks. Day and night shifts are required as this is a 24/7 operations facility.\nPOSITION TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:\nEncourage process improvements in all operational functions\nSupport the implementation of capital and operational improvements\nOrganize and lead production team meetings/training as required\nMaintain positive relationships with both hourly and managerial staff members\nTrain to operate production equipment when needed\nMust be available for Rotating Shifts\nMaintain and build an environment conducive to productive and positive relationships with employees\nSupport and train hourly production employees and serve as a mentor and coach to ensure the successful development of their own staff.\nAssume a leadership role in the health and safety program and help to create the health and safety annual plan for the establishment\nEnsure current and future compliance with all standards, including the Ministry of Environment, the Ministry of Labour, Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, the CFIA, HACCP\nMonitor and generate reports on production related performance\nLead and complete projects as assigned by the Production Manager\nOther duties as assigned\nEDUCATION AND/OR WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:\nThe preferred candidate will have between 3 and 5 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing production environment.\nPost-secondary degree/diploma in engineering, science or a related technical field an asset\nExperience in a supervisory capacity promoting a teamwork approach\nExperience in coaching and mentoring to assist in successful staff development\nAbility to work independently and take initiative with a positive outlook\nExcellent organizational and analytical skills\nProven ability to perform multiple tasks in a dynamic work environment\nHigh level of computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office applications. Knowledge of Oracle and Kronos a plus\nExcellent oral and written communication skills\nAbility to cooperate and build relationships with other functional areas and other facilities within Darling Ingredients\nAbility to maintain open and effective communication with employees and all levels of management\nJoint health and safety and maintenance experience an asset\nSelf-motivated person that is able to complete assignments on time with little to no supervision\nAbility to maintain confidentiality as necessary\nPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:\nWalking, standings and moving for prolonged periods of time.\nLift up to 50 lbs.\nPosition includes utilization of computer systems in the plant and office.\nTypical of a food manufacturing plant environment including high volume of raw material smell, changeable weather and temperature conditions.
