{"id":1498330,"url":"https://alion.io/job/darling-ingredients-project-manager","title":"Project Manager","company":{"id":1955254,"name":"Darling Ingredients","domain":"darlingii.com","url":"https://alion.io/company/darlingii","size_band":"5000+","is_staffing_agency":false,"employer_type":"direct","is_intermediary":false,"listed_via":null,"ats_vendor":"Oracle","truth_index":null},"role":"Management","role_family":"Management","seniority":"middle","employment_type":null,"work_mode":"on_site","remote_scope":null,"remote_scope_basis":null,"remote_working_hours":null,"hiring_geo_confidence":"structured","locations":["Cold Spring, United States"],"countries":["US"],"hiring_countries":[],"hiring_countries_total":0,"salary":null,"salary_estimate":{"min_usd":75000,"max_usd":148000,"period":"year","method":"role_seniority_country_remote_cell","sample_n":856},"experience_years_min":3,"visa_sponsorship":false,"relocation_package":false,"has_equity":false,"technologies":[],"status":"live","first_seen_at":"2026-09-24T13:08:48Z","employer_posted_date":"2026-09-24","last_verified_at":"2026-10-02T22:31:22Z","board_verified":true,"closed_at":null,"days_open":8,"trust":{"level":"ok","repost_count":null,"flags":[],"days_open":8},"description":"The Project Manager is responsible for managing personnel in all areas of construction and operations, maintaining all equipment while estimating costs of maintenance and repair to the equipment.\nEssential Duties/Responsibilities\nNothing in this job description restricts management’s right to assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time.\nManagement of all mechanical construction activities associated with Darling Ingredients or any of its subsidiaries.\nResponsible for the scheduling of all mechanical field personnel and dealing with issues that may arise.\nResponsible for the selection and procurement of mechanical equipment and supplies necessary for the construction to move forward in a timely manner.\nResponsible for the supervision and procurement of sub-contractors hired to help in the construction of processing facilities and buildings.\nDirect supervision to corporate electricians, field mechanical coordinator and special projects coordinator and subcontracted millwrights.\nAssist the Director of Mechanical Installations in arriving at solutions to ongoing problems or situations.\nAssist in the layout and design of new equipment or in the upgrade of existing equipment.\nTroubleshoot existing equipment when efficiencies fall below standards at Darling Ingredients facilities.\nTrack progress on construction jobs weekly and develop a list of what has been completed and what is lacking completion for each ongoing job.\nCoordinate ongoing and upcoming jobs as to the amount of labor required to complete the job successfully and in a timely manner.\nResponsible for on-site job cost relating to construction and installation of capitol investment projects.\nCommunicate and interface with upper management - VP of Operations, District Managers, General Managers, Plant Managers, and Productions Managers.\nResponsible for large scale equipment change-outs which include all necessary parts, equipment, labor scheduling and coordinating of tasks involved in the completion of the change-out in order to keep any downtime in the allotted time frame.\nResponsible for the procurement, the supervision and safety of sub contractors hired to help in construction of facilities or buildings.\nResponsible for the supervision of Darling employees used to construct or install equipment.\nResponsible for assisting in the start-up installed equipment.\nResponsible for the upkeep of tools and equipment owned by Darling Ingredients and utilized by oneself or others under his supervision.\nAll other duties as assigned.\nMinimum Qualifications\nHigh school diploma or GED equivalent.\nMinimum of 3+ years of experience in the implementation and coordination of both high level construction and process operations.\nPreferred Qualifications\nMillwright and rendering experience preferred.\nPrior supervisory experience a must; construction experience preferred.\nGood working knowledge of PLC’s and programming; general mechanical background.\nGood communication and organizational skills.\nAbility to work with others in a professional manner.\nExcellent work ethic and positive attitude.\nPhysical Demands\nOccasionally lift 100 lbs. \nFrequently twists, tug, pull and stretch.\nOccasional long hours required during change-outs/switch-over.\nConstant travel required;
