In this role, you will work closely with customers, partners, and resellers to support the development of solutions leveraging APIs across the SOLIDWORKS product portfolio.\nYou will combine software development, debugging, technical problem-solving, and customer collaboration to help identify and resolve API-related issues while also contributing to the continued improvement of SOLIDWORKS API capabilities.\nKey Responsibilities:\nProvide technical support to partners, resellers, and customers developing solutions using SOLIDWORKS APIs.\nTroubleshoot and debug SOLIDWORKS and partner-developed source code to identify, diagnose, and resolve technical issues.\nInvestigate reported software problems and document findings in sufficient detail for internal development teams to reproduce and correct issues.\nValidate software fixes to ensure reported problems are resolved without introducing issues in other areas of functionality.\nDocument technical solutions and best practices for publication within the SOLIDWORKS Knowledge Base.\nCollaborate with customers and internal stakeholders to identify opportunities for new or enhanced API functionality.\nEvaluate and prioritize API enhancement ideas based on technical feasibility and customer value.\nDevelop detailed technical specifications for selected API enhancements in collaboration with key stakeholders.\nCreate and execute test plans for new and enhanced API functionality.\nDevelop sample applications and code examples demonstrating proper use of existing and newly developed APIs.\nReview and validate online Help and technical documentation for SOLIDWORKS APIs.\nCollaborate within the software development team to meet project milestones and deliver high-quality solutions.\nQualifications\nBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline required; Master’s degree or PhD preferred.\n3-6 years of relevant work experience\nStrong programming knowledge with C++.\nWorking knowledge of MFC and COM technologies.\nExperience with C#, Visual Basic (VB), .NET Framework, OLE, and/or ActiveX is preferred.\nStrong understanding of object-oriented programming, software development concepts, and application architecture.\nExperience developing, integrating, or supporting APIs, SDKs, or software applications.\nStrong debugging and troubleshooting skills with the ability to analyze complex software issues.\nExperience with CAD, engineering software, or SOLIDWORKS is highly preferred.\nAbility to understand existing source code and investigate issues across multiple areas of an application.\nStrong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to customers, partners, and internal teams.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.\nAbility to work collaboratively within a software development and R&D environment.\nSelf-motivated with the ability to manage priorities and contribute toward aggressive project milestones.\nInclusion statement\nIn order to provide equal employment and advancement opportunities to all individuals, employment decisions at 3DS are based on merit, qualifications and abilities. 3DS is committed to a policy of non-discrimination and equal opportunity for all employees and qualified applicants without regard to race, color, religion, gender, sex (including pregnancy, childbirth or medical or common conditions related to pregnancy or childbirth), sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, marital status, familial status, national origin, ancestry, age (40 and above), disability, veteran status, military service, application for military service, genetic information, receipt of free medical care, or any other characteristic protected under applicable law. 3DS will make reasonable accommodations for qualified individuals with known disabilities, in accordance with applicable law.\nQualified applicants with arrest or conviction records will be considered for employment in accordance with applicable state laws and local ordinances.
