You will bridge cutting-edge AI techniques with finite element simulation and multiphysics optimization, driving innovation that redefines how engineers design the products of tomorrow.\nStarting date for the internship is 01st of April 2027 in Karlsruhe.\nRole Description and Responsibilities\nResearch and develop AI/ML multi-fidelity approaches for non-parametric optimization processes (e.g., enabling the generation of highly detailed structures based on coarser finite element meshes).\n\nParticipate in the development and implementation of structural optimization algorithms.\n\nPrototype and test implementation of algorithmic routines in a C++ and Python environment.\n\nPerform modeling within the context of the Finite Element Method (FEM).\n\nInvestigate, evaluate, and test cutting-edge methods in the fast-moving field of AI and Machine Learning.\n\nOptionally, combine your internship with a subsequent Master's Thesis on advanced Generative Design topics.\n\nQualifications\nCurrently pursuing a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Aerospace, Computational Engineering, or a related field.\n\nFirst practical or theoretical experience with CAE (Computer-Aided Engineering) and FEM.\n\nInitial experience with AI, Machine Learning, or related data science technologies is preferred.\n\nSolid understanding of structural mechanics, mathematics, and numerical methods.\n\nProgramming skills in Python and/or C++ are advantageous.\n\nStrong fascination for simulation-based optimization and generative engineering.\n\nSelf-motivated, goal-oriented mindset with high team spirit.\n\nVery good communication skills in English and German (both written and spoken).\n\nWhat’s In It For You\nDeep insights and practical hands-on training with industry-leading CAE solutions, including 3DEXPERIENCE MODSIM, Tosca Structure, Abaqus, fe-safe, and CATIA.\n\nFlexible working hours.\n\nCollaborative environment working alongside highly qualified, dedicated, and diverse engineering teams.\n\nClear opportunities for professional development, including access to our 3DEXPERIENCE University and LinkedIn Learning programs.\n\nAdditional benefits & perks (e.g., Urban Sports Club membership discounts, fresh fruit, drinks, and coffee at the office).\n\nInclusion statement\nAs a game-changer in sustainable technology and innovation, Dassault Systèmes is striving to build more inclusive and diverse teams across the globe.
