Key Responsibilities
The Finance Manager Germanywill oversee the accounting, financial controlling, reporting, and compliance activities of Data4's German entities.
Working closely with Group Finance and local stakeholders, this role will play a key part in supporting Data4's continued expansion in Germany, with significant exposure to large-scale CAPEX investment projects, infrastructure development and business growth initiatives. The position combines financial controlling, business partnering, and team leadership within a fast-growing international organisation.
Responsibilities
Accounting for Germany
- Structure and oversee accounting activities across the German entities (internal teams and OSP).
- Ensure accurate entries and reporting of Revenue, Opex, Capex, payroll and third parties’ transactions.
- Manage month-end, quarter-end and year-end close under local GAAP and IFRS.
- Lead tax declaration processes with the assistance of external advisors and challenge tax opportunities.
- Manage cash collection, supplier payments and working capital activities.
- Coordinate audits, tax compliance and statutory reporting requirements.
Financial Control of German Entities
- Monitor monthly budget execution (Revenues, Opex, CAPEX) actuals against expectations.
- Manage local budgeting processes and provide accurate forecasts (P&L, cash), partnering with Group’s and local operational teams.
- Deliver financial analysis, management reporting and performance dashboards.
- Identify opportunities to optimise costs, improve financial performance and enhance cash management.
- Support CAPEX investment projects, infrastructure developments and long-term business plans appraisals.
Internal Control
- Ensure compliance with Group policies and financial governance standards.
- Contribute to SOX controls, audit requirements and risk management activities.
- Promote strong financial controls and best practices across the business.
Management of the Finance Organisation
- Lead and develop local team and manage local and global objectives.
- Support process improvement, fast-close and Group’s finance transformation initiatives.
- Foster a collaborative and continuous improvement culture.
Education & Experience
- Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration.
- 8+ years of experience in finance, accounting, financial control or audit within a multinational or multi-entity environment.
- Experience managing or mentoring team members is advantageous.
- Exposure to CAPEX-intensive environments such as data centres, infrastructure, construction, engineering, industrial, energy, utilities, manufacturing or real estate is highly desirable.
Technical Skills
- Strong accounting, financial reporting, tax and financial control experience.
- Knowledge of IFRS and local GAAP.
- Budgeting, forecasting and cash flow management expertise.
- Experience supporting capital investment (CAPEX) projects.
- Familiarity with ERP, FP&A and reporting systems (Sage X3 and OneStream would be a plus).
- Advanced Excel skills.
- Fluent English and German language skills.
