You will guide engineering on accessible implementation, run knowledge sessions for engineering and product, and write an accessibility plan for a platform. The plan states the testing the platform needs and the support and budget it does not yet have. Quality engineering uses that plan to request both.\nYou will audit against WCAG 2.2, targeting AA, with awareness of AAA where relevant, and you need working knowledge of WCAG 2.1 and 2.2 at A and AA. Audits use screen readers, keyboard-only navigation, and automated scanners. You will own the accessibility testing process, from test plans, severity, regression, and sign-off through CI gates, remediation guidance, and stakeholder reporting. An accessibility certification is not required.\nYou will manage and mentor the accessibility QA team, and report conformance and regulatory risk in writing that both engineers and legal or compliance staff can use. This position is intended for Hyderabad-based candidates who are available to work from the office.\nResponsibilities:\nWrite an accessibility plan for a platform.\nGuide engineering on accessible implementation, beyond defects found after the fact, and run knowledge sessions for engineering and product.\nConduct hands-on accessibility audits against WCAG 2.2, targeting AA, with awareness of AAA where relevant, using working knowledge of WCAG 2.1 and 2.2 at A and AA. Use screen readers, keyboard-only navigation, and automated scanners. Current hands-on testing stays part of the lead role.\nCreate, execute, and review accessibility test plans, test cases, and automation for web and native mobile products.\nDesign and maintain the accessibility testing process: test plans, definition of done, severity and priority taxonomy, regression suites, and sign-off criteria.\nLead, mentor, and develop the accessibility QA team: set individual goals, review test plans and bug reports, and calibrate quality across testers.\nWork with product, design, and engineering to shift accessibility left: accessible design-system components, accessibility acceptance criteria in tickets before code is written, pull-request checks, and CI-gated automated scans.\nSelect, configure, and maintain the automated scanning stack (axe DevTools, WAVE, Siteimprove, or equivalent), and integrate accessibility testing into CI/CD and design tooling.\nExplain the user impact of accessibility issues, provide remediation guidance, and support teams during implementation.\nConduct accessibility audits and risk assessments for new and existing products.\nEstablish accessibility quality metrics, dashboards, and reporting for stakeholders.\nTrack conformance against WCAG, produce and maintain VPATs and Accessibility Conformance Reports, and report risk exposure under UK and US accessibility requirements and other country rules that apply, including the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Section 508, and the European Accessibility Act (EAA) where the product is offered there.\nTrain QA, design, and engineering staff on accessibility fundamentals and assistive-technology use.\nEvaluate and apply AI-assisted tools to accelerate testing and reporting, and decide where AI output needs human verification.\nRequirements:\nLead-level accessibility experience, with current hands-on testing. An accessibility certification is not required.\nExperience guiding engineering on accessible implementation, running knowledge sessions for engineering and product, and writing an accessibility plan for a platform that states the testing the platform needs and the support and budget it does not yet have.\nDeep working knowledge of WCAG 2.1 and 2.2 success criteria at A and AA.\nPractical fluency in WAI-ARIA 1.2 roles, states, and properties.\nProficiency in reading and writing semantic HTML and CSS, including the ability to identify accessibility defects in code, not only in the rendered UI.\nWorking knowledge of UK and US accessibility requirements, and of the other country rules that apply, because the products are used in more than one country. That includes how WCAG maps to the ADA and Section 508, and to the EAA where a product is offered in the EU.\nProficient screen-reader use on desktop (NVDA and JAWS on Windows, VoiceOver on macOS) and mobile (VoiceOver on iOS, TalkBack on Android), including completing real tasks by ear.\nKeyboard-only testing: focus order, visible focus indication, no keyboard traps, and all interactive elements operable.\nExperience with automated scanners (axe DevTools, WAVE, Siteimprove, or equivalent), including a clear sense of their coverage limits.\nComfortable using browser developer tools to inspect the DOM and accessibility tree and confirm what assistive technology receives.\nExperience testing native mobile apps (iOS Accessibility and Android Accessibility).\nProven experience leading accessibility testing across web, mobile, and digital products.\nExperience building or running an accessibility testing process, including definition of done, CI checks, and design review, rather than only executing an existing checklist.\nPrior experience managing or leading a QA team: planning, review, coaching, and training.\nExperience using AI tools to accelerate testing and reporting workflows, with clear judgment about where AI output needs human verification.\nStrong written communication. Bug reports and stakeholder reports must be usable by both engineers and legal or compliance staff.\nNice to have:\nIAAP certification (CPACC, WAS, or CPWA), or Section 508 Trusted Tester certification.\nExperience with PDF and document accessibility remediation and validation (for example, the PAC tool and tagged PDF structure).\nUnderstanding of cognitive and low-vision accessibility beyond blindness-focused testing (readability, plain language, motion and animation sensitivity, timing).\nExperience contributing to or auditing an accessible design system or component library.\nExperience authoring and reviewing Accessibility Conformance Reports.\nExperience with accessibility maturity models and with KPI or metrics reporting to non-technical stakeholders.","description_format":"text","description_chars":6162,"description_truncated":false,"requirements":{"experience_years_min":null,"management_years_min":null,"team_size_min":null,"manages_managers":false,"education":null,"security_clearance":false,"languages":[]},"benefits":[],"hiring_locations":[],"hiring_excludes":[],"relocation_offered":false,"industries":["IT Outsourcing & Dedicated Teams","Custom Software Development"],"lifecycle":[{"event":"open","at":"2026-10-05T08:02:33Z"}],"visa":[],"liveness":{"score":90,"band":"hot","label":"Hiring now","p_open":1,"p_active":0.903,"p_room":1,"age_days":4,"expected_fill_days":49,"reasons":["seen:4","velocity","win:early"],"computed_at":"2026-10-10T05:45:15Z"},"pay":null,"html_url":"https://alion.io/job/dataart-accessibility-qa-engineer","json_url":"https://alion.io/job/dataart-accessibility-qa-engineer.json","meta":{"generated_at":"2026-10-11T19:48:15Z","cache_seconds":300,"methodology":"https://alion.io/methodology","terms":"https://alion.io/terms","contact":"https://alion.io/contact","api":"https://alion.io/developers","about":"Alion is a live layer of people, companies and AI agents: who they are, whether they are real and active right now, what they do and how to work with them, readable by people and by agents and paid per call.","catalog":"https://alion.io/catalog.json","usage":{"tier":"crawler_verified","counted_by":"address","units_charged":1,"used_today":7019,"day_limit":null,"remaining_today":null,"minute_limit":300,"resets_at":"2026-10-12T00:00:00Z"}},"offers":[{"id":"company.slices","title":"One company in depth, by slice","status":"live","price":{"credits":0.02,"usd":0.002,"plus_per_slice":{"credits":0.05,"usd":0.005}},"unit":"per company, plus each slice with data","note":"the employer in depth","call":{"mcp_tool":"get_company","arguments":{"id":46984},"rest":"https://alion.io/mcp/rest/get_company?id=46984"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=company.slices&for=job%2Fdataart-accessibility-qa-engineer"},{"id":"market.stats","title":"A market slice: pay, demand and time to fill","status":"live","price":{"credits":1,"usd":0.1},"unit":"per slice","note":"pay, demand and time to fill for this role and place","call":{"mcp_tool":"market_stats"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=market.stats&for=job%2Fdataart-accessibility-qa-engineer"},{"id":"job.search","title":"Open jobs by role, technology, place, pay and visa","status":"live","price":{"credits":0.02,"usd":0.002},"unit":"per posting in a list","note":"similar open postings","call":{"mcp_tool":"search_jobs"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=job.search&for=job%2Fdataart-accessibility-qa-engineer"},{"id":"company.verify","title":"Is this company real and active right now","status":"pilot","price":null,"unit":"per company","request":{"url":"https://alion.io/catalog/request","method":"POST","body":"{\"offer\": \"company.verify\", \"for\": \"job/dataart-accessibility-qa-engineer\", \"note\": \"what you need it for\"}"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=company.verify&for=job%2Fdataart-accessibility-qa-engineer"}]}
