The successful candidate is expected to remain actively involved in solution design, coding, code reviews, and delivery.\nThis is a hybrid position requiring onsite presence at the client’s Chicago office 3 days per week.\nThe estimated salary range for this position is $190,000 to $210,000 per year.\nLead solution architecture and technical design activities\nDesign, develop, and maintain production grade Python applications\nRefactor and modernize applications originally developed by business teams\nDesign scalable, resilient, secure, and observable AWS native solutions\nContribute to data architecture and solutions based on modern cloud data platforms (Snowflake preferred)\nDefine engineering standards, design patterns, testing practices, and CI/CD processes\nConduct code reviews and support software quality, maintainability, and security\nCollaborate with business stakeholders and subject matter experts to translate business needs into technical solutions\nWork effectively in an environment with limited Business Analyst support\nMentor junior and middle level engineers and facilitate knowledge transfer across the team\nStrong hands on Python development experience\nProven experience designing and building production grade applications\nStrong AWS architecture and cloud engineering expertise\nPrevious experience as a Technical Lead, Lead Engineer, or hands on Architect\nExperience modernizing or refactoring legacy or business developed applications\nStrong SQL skills\nKnowledge of software architecture and design patterns\nKnowledge of API design and system integration\nKnowledge of automated testing and quality engineering\nKnowledge of CI/CD and version control\nKnowledge of application security, monitoring, and observability\nExperience with modern cloud data platforms (e.g. Snowflake, Redshift, Databricks, BigQuery)\nExperience working with data intensive applications or analytics solutions\nStrong stakeholder communication and requirements analysis skills\nExperience mentoring and supporting junior and middle level engineers\nAbility and willingness to work onsite in Chicago 2-3 days per week\nExperience in Financial Services, particularly Asset Management, Investment Management, or Capital Markets\nExperience with portfolio management, investment analytics, Fixed Income, or ETF solutions\nHands on Snowflake experience\nExposure to Aladdin, BNY, or comparable financial platforms and integrations\nExperience modernizing applications developed by business analyst or quantitative teams\nFamiliarity with AI enabled software development, agentic workflows, or AI assisted
