We provide the ability to switch between projects and technology stacks, creating opportunities for exploration through our learning and networking systems to advance your career.\n\nPosition Overview\n\nOur client, a leading global investment management organization, is modernizing a portfolio of business-critical investment analytics and portfolio management applications.\n\nThis is a greenfield-focused initiative offering significant influence over solution architecture, technology choices, and engineering practices.\n\nThe scope includes:\n\nPortfolio management and investment analytics\n\nFixed income ETFs and capital markets solutions\n\nIntegrations with external platforms such as BNY and Aladdin\n\nModernization of applications originally developed by business teams.\n\nThe role combines Python development, AWS architecture, technical leadership, and direct collaboration with business stakeholders. The successful candidate will design and implement scalable solutions, modernize existing applications, establish engineering standards, and mentor junior and mid-level developers.\n\nThe successful candidate will be able to move effectively between business discussions, solution design, architecture, development, code review, and mentoring, applying pragmatic technical leadership and excellent stakeholder communication to transform business-developed applications into robust, scalable, and maintainable engineering solutions.\n\nThis is not a purely architectural or managerial role. The successful candidate is expected to remain actively involved in solution design, coding, code reviews, and delivery.\n\nResponsibilities\n\nLead solution architecture and technical design activities\n\nDesign develop and maintain production grade Python applications\n\nRefactor and modernize applications originally developed by business teams\n\nDesign scalable resilient secure and observable AWS native solutions\n\nContribute to data architecture and solutions based on Snowflake and modern data platforms\n\nDefine engineering standards design patterns testing practices and CI/CD processes\n\nConduct code reviews and support software quality maintainability and security\n\nCollaborate with business stakeholders and subject matter experts to translate business needs into technical solutions\n\nWork effectively in an environment with limited Business Analyst support\n\nMentor junior and middle level engineers and facilitate knowledge transfer across the team\n\nRequirements\n\nStrong hands on Python development experience\n\nProven experience designing and building production grade applications\n\nStrong AWS architecture and cloud engineering expertise\n\nPrevious experience as a Technical Lead Lead Engineer or hands on Architect\n\nExperience modernizing or refactoring legacy or business developed applications\n\nKnowledge of software architecture and design patterns\n\nKnowledge of API design and system integration\n\nKnowledge of automated testing and quality engineering\n\nKnowledge of CI/CD and version control\n\nKnowledge of application security monitoring and observability\n\nExperience with Snowflake or comparable modern data platforms\n\nExperience working with data intensive applications or analytics solutions\n\nStrong stakeholder communication and requirements analysis skills\n\nExperience mentoring and supporting junior and middle level engineers\n\nAbility and willingness to work onsite in London two days per week\n\nNice to have\n\nExperience in Financial Services particularly in Asset Management Investment Management or Capital Markets\n\nExperience with portfolio management investment analytics Fixed Income or ETF solutions\n\nExposure to Aladdin BNY or comparable financial platforms and integrations\n\nExperience modernizing applications developed by business analyst or quantitative teams\n\nFamiliarity with AI enabled software development agentic workflows or AI assisted SDLC\n\nWhat We Offer\n\nUnique corporate culture – no micromanagement, friendly atmosphere, freedom, and mutual respect\n\nFlexible schedule – ability to change projects, to work from home, and to try yourself in different roles\n\nProfessional Development Map – a comprehensive map of your professional development within DataArt\n\nWe hire people not for a project, but for the company.
