One of its main applications is Booking Admin, designed for travel agents to view, manage, and process bookings made through the booking system. It provides a central place for handling reservations and keeping booking information up to date.\n\nThe portal is built on Ruby on Rails 8.1, and applications across the client's ecosystem are hosted on a combination of on-premises infrastructure and Google Cloud Platform.\nPosition overview\nAs a Senior Ruby on Rails Developer, you'll join the engineering team as a hands-on senior contributor on Tools Portal. You'll own significant parts of the codebase, raise the bar on code quality and engineering practices, and help shape how the internal tooling evolves\nResponsibilities\nDesign, build and maintain features in a Rails 8.1 application that serves real customer traffic\n\nTake ownership of key areas of the platform, from design through to production\n\nContribute to architecture decisions, code reviews and technical planning together with the team\n\nImprove the reliability, performance and maintainability of the platform, including refactoring legacy parts where it pays off\n\nSupport deployments, monitoring and production troubleshooting across the current environments\n\nBuild and maintain integrations with third-party travel suppliers and internal services\n\nPromote solid engineering practices: automated testing, CI/CD, clear documentation, sensible upgrade paths\n\nPartner with product and business stakeholders to turn requirements into well-scoped technical solutions\n\nRequirements\n5+ years of commercial experience with Ruby\n\nStrong, hands-on experience with Ruby on Rails in production, including recent versions (Rails 7/8)\n\nHands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), ideally including running Rails applications on it\n\nSolid knowledge of relational databases and SQL (e.g. PostgreSQL or MySQL)\n\nExperience writing automated tests with RSpec or Minitest\n\nA proactive, ownership-driven approach and the ability to work autonomously\n\nUpper-Intermediate English or higher\n\nNice to have\nExperience migrating applications from on-premise infrastructure to the cloud\n\nExperience in travel, e-commerce or booking platforms\n\nExperience with background job processing (Sidekiq, Solid Queue) and caching (Redis, Solid Cache)\n\nHotwire (Turbo/Stimulus) on the frontend\n\nExperience upgrading Rails applications across major versions\n\nDocker and infrastructure as code (Terraform) on GCP\n\nExperience integrating
