Databricks is one of the world’s fastest-growing data and AI companies-an industry leader transforming how organizations harness the power of their data. As we scale rapidly across the globe, we’re seeking an experienced, Global Workplace Services, Food & Beverage Lead to develop and drive the overarching strategy, design, and execution for food and beverage across our portfolio.

The Real Estate & Workplace Services (REWS) team operates at an extremely fast pace, and we are in search of a leader with a strong food and hospitality background to help us scale our programs effectively. You will be instrumental in shaping our overarching culinary vision, amenity strategy, and daily food service operations across our global footprint. Our cafes and micro-kitchens are core to building culture and connection. Our coffee, boba, and catering programs, as well as food spaces should support employee wellness and drive office engagement. You’ll build scalable programs that balance the demand for bespoke, high-touch user experiences with the necessity for operational scale and financial efficiency. You will ensure our food program inspires Bricksters and supports a high-performance environment.

This role involves cultivating key relationships with third-party partners who are crucial to our expansion and growth. You’ll also collaborate internally with Workplace managers, our inclusion team, executive admins, our training teams, and many more. The position reports directly to the AMER Workplace services leader with dotted lines to our Workplace leader over EMEA and APJ. This is a full-time, in-office role based in San Francisco, CA. Travel to critical hub locations is required to support the business and build the program.

The impact you will have:

  • Global F&B Strategy: Define the strategy for all food and beverage touchpoints, including full-service cafes, micro-kitchens, barista/boba bars, event catering, pop-up vendors, and executive dining across all regions. Include a comprehensive operational roadmap, and timeline.
  • Vendor Governance & IFM Management: Lead the selection, contract negotiations, and performance management of Integrated Facilities Management (IFM) partners and premier corporate dining vendors (e.g., Compass Group, Guckenheimer, Aramark, Bon Appétit). Oversee global contracts and relationships with F&B vendors, catering teams, and local suppliers.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with internal stakeholders-including Internal Communications, People/HR, Executive Assistants, Corporate Marketing, IT/AV, Security, events and experience teams, and local workplace leaders and specialists-to ensure seamless daily operations.
  • Financial Management & Auditing: Oversee the global F&B budget, ensuring consistency across regions. Establish cost-per-head controls, invoice auditing, financial forecasting, and key metrics to measure food and beverage impact to inform future programming.
  • Health, Safety, & Sustainability: Enforce global food safety compliance, ensure we are compliant with local permitting and regulations, and drive corporate sustainability goals (e.g., zero food waste initiatives, sustainable sourcing, compostable packaging, smart tracking).
  • Data-Driven Program Optimization: Monitor office utilization trends and badge-swipe data to align meal production with actual office attendance, drastically reducing waste and maximizing efficiency. Adapt seamlessly to shifting headcounts and evolving needs of dynamic, fast-growing business units.
  • Space Planning & Culinary Design: Collaborate with the Real Estate & Design/Build teams on kitchen, servery, and micro-kitchen layouts during new office build-outs and expansions.
  • Strategic Stakeholder management: Provide exceptional interpersonal, negotiation, and diplomatic capabilities to seamlessly collaborate with, influence, and align global cross-functional stakeholders and executive leadership teams.
  • Global Standards & Playbooks: Develop standardized global playbooks, service-level agreements (SLAs), and operational guidelines for local workplace teams to execute events consistently across regions.
  • Technical Fluency: Approach process and procedure with technical competency utilizing food and beverage management platforms, cross-functional collaborative tools (such as Asana, Slack, Zoom, and mobile F&B applications), and AI to drive efficiency and analyze data.
  • Mentor and Coach: Mentor and coach workplace specialists, as well as outsourced team members to provide best in class food and beverage experiences across the company.

What we look for:

  • 8-12+ years of senior hospitality management experience leading large-scale corporate dining programs for enterprise tech companies or high-volume multi-site hospitality environments.
  • Expertise in managing large P&Ls and complex vendor contracts across different regions and regulatory environments.
  • Strong background in planning commercial food and beverage environments within offices to support our programming.
  • Deep knowledge of food safety, culinary trends, dietary diversity (vegan, kosher, halal, allergen-conscious), and corporate sustainability practices.
  • Demonstrated capacity to independently manage complex logistical operations with concurrent execution timelines.
  • Experience managing high-volume food service operations with daily executive visibility.
  • Great communication skills and the ability to draft robust communications plans for events, programs, and operations.
  • Proven organizational skills, managing multiple work streams and projects
  • Customer focused attitude - ensuring consistently high quality resolutions
  • Experience with procurement, contract management and review, and vendor management.
  • Experience with google suite.
  • Experience with fresh service and asana programs preferred.
