This role will manage individual contributors and may oversee team leads while ensuring invoices, payments, reconciliations, tax reporting, and employee expenses are processed accurately and on time.\nThe Manager, Accounts Payable will own team performance and execution while driving process improvements, automation, and reporting. You will work across Procurement, Accounting, Treasury, Tax, Finance, and other teams to resolve complex issues, strengthen controls, and improve the procure-to-pay experience.\nThe ideal candidate is a reliable people leader who uses business context and data to make decisions, advises stakeholders, and delivers measurable operational improvements.\nWhat You’ll Do\nLead, coach, and develop AP and Expense team members.\nManage team performance, staffing, workload allocation, and day-to-day execution.\nBuild a high-performing team with clear expectations, strong accountability, and consistent results.\nOversee invoice processing, purchase order matching, coding, approvals, payments, vendor inquiries, and employee expense operations.\nEnsure AP and Expense activities are completed accurately, on time, and in accordance with company policies and controls.\nOwn balance sheet reconciliations, AP close activities, accrual support, aging reviews, and related reporting.\nLead annual 1099 reporting and support other AP-related tax and compliance requirements.\nServe as the primary AP contact for internal and external audits, ensuring requested documentation is accurate and complete.\nMonitor unmatched invoices, open purchase orders, payment exceptions, duplicate payments, credits, and other outstanding items.\nIdentify inefficiencies across AP and Expenses and lead process improvements that increase accuracy, efficiency, and scalability;\nDrive automation and AI initiatives related to invoice processing, matching, approvals, reconciliations, exception handling, and reporting.\nDevelop reporting and insights using tools such as Zip, Ramp, Tableau, ERP systems, and other operational data sources.\nEstablish and monitor performance metrics, including processing volume, aging, cycle times, exception rates, and on-time payments.\nPartner across Procurement, Accounting, Treasury, Tax, Finance, and business teams and lead cross-functional initiatives when needed.\nEvaluate complex issues using business context, advise team members and stakeholders, and recommend practical solutions.\nEscalate risks and issues that could affect costs, controls, service levels, or short-term business goals.\nWhat You’ll Bring\n7+ years of experience in accounts payable, Expenses, accounting operations, or procure-to-pay, including people-management experience.\nProven ability to lead teams, manage performance, and deliver reliable results.\nExperience owning and improving an operational area with measurable impact.\nStrong knowledge of invoice processing, purchase orders, payments, expense management, reconciliations, accruals, and the monthly close.\nExperience managing 1099 reporting and supporting internal and external audits.\nExperience using procurement or finance platforms such as Zip, NetSuite, and Ramp.\nSound judgment when addressing diverse challenges, applying policies, and escalating financial or operational risks.\nStrong cross-functional collaboration, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.\nDemonstrated ownership, accountability, and reliability in a high-volume environment.\nA bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.\nDatadog offers a competitive salary and equity package, and may include variable compensation.
