You will work across two kinds of content: brand and marketing video (campaigns, customer stories, event films, social and paid cutdowns) and product and technical video (launch films, feature demos, release explainers, conference keynote support).\nYou will partner closely with brand designers, product marketing, developer relations, and the events team. We operate as a hybrid workplace to ensure our Datadogs can create a work-life harmony that best fits them.\nWhat You'll Do:\nCut brand and product video from raw footage to final delivery in Premiere Pro, working across multiple active projects and deadlines.\nScript and storyboard your own pieces - take a rough brief or a product demo and shape it into a story with a clear arc before a single clip is on the timeline.\nCreate motion graphics as projects require - lower thirds, UI callouts, titles, and simple data visualizations - in After Effects, and build supporting illustration and vector assets in Illustrator.\nColor grade in DaVinci Resolve Studio, including conform, node-based grading, and matching shots across multi-camera and mixed-source footage.\nPrep, retouch, and composite stills and textures in Photoshop for use in motion work and thumbnails.\nUse AI-assisted tools in production - transcript-based rough cuts, auto-reframe, speech enhancement, rotoscoping and masking, generative fill and extend, upscaling - and tell us honestly which ones earn their place in the workflow.\nDeliver versioned cutdowns and aspect-ratio variants for YouTube, LinkedIn, paid social, event screens, and the Datadog website, with correct specs every time.\nKeep projects organized: clean bins, consistent naming, archived masters, and handoff files a teammate can actually open and finish.\nSet and defend the quality bar - give direction to freelancers where necessary and review their work.\nWho You Are:\n6+ years of professional video editing experience, with a reel that shows both narrative/brand work and clear, well-structured technical or product content.\nAdvanced Premiere Pro - multicam, nested sequences, proxy workflows, dynamic link, Essential Graphics templates, and the keyboard-driven speed that comes from years in the application.\nHighly Competent in After Effects - expressions, shape layers, 2D/3D camera work, motion tracking, and original graphic and illustration design rather than template assembly.\nHighly Competent in Illustrator and Photoshop - you create assets from scratch, not just resize them.\nHands-on color grading in DaVinci Resolve Studio - primaries and secondaries, power windows, LUT and color-space management, and delivery-safe output.\nProven ability to script and storyboard: you can write a VO, structure a demo, and pitch a board before production starts.\nDemonstrated ability to edit highly technical content in an engaging way through product screens. \nFamiliarity with developer tooling, cloud infrastructure, or observability concepts.\nActive, practical use of AI tools in an editing workflow, with a clear point of view on where they help, where they fall apart, and how to use them without compromising quality or accuracy.\nStrong audio instincts - mix, music selection, dialogue cleanup, and knowing when silence is the right choice.\nComfortable working on technical subject matter and willing to learn enough about the product to cut it accurately.\nSelf-directed and unfazed by shifting priorities, short turnarounds, and simultaneous projects.\nBonus Points:\nExperience filming - camera operation, lighting, and location or studio audio.\nLive event and conference production experience, including keynote playback and show graphics.\n3D work in Cinema 4D, Blender, or Element 3D.\nExperience building reusable motion systems and Essential Graphics templates for other teams to use.\nDatadog values people from all walks of life.
