As we continue to grow, we’re looking for people who want to bring their experience, ideas, and perspective to meaningful projects and help shape what comes next at DataOne.\nAbout the Job\nDataOne is hiring a Senior Network Operations Technician to support the network and technical infrastructure within our 24/7 mission-critical data center in Vineland, New Jersey.\nIn this role, you’ll provide advanced hands-on support for network connectivity, enterprise network equipment, carrier services, fiber-optic and copper infrastructure, structured cabling, CCTV, access control, and associated data center systems. You’ll troubleshoot network incidents, support infrastructure deployments and maintenance, and work closely with Network Engineering, telecommunications carriers, vendors, Facilities, Security, and other technical teams.\nAs a senior member of the team, you’ll also provide technical guidance to junior Network Operations Technicians and help improve network procedures, documentation, and technical standards.\nWhat You’ll Do\nMonitor, troubleshoot, and maintain production data center network infrastructure, including switches, routers, firewalls, network appliances, and optical equipment.\nPerform Layer 1, Layer 2, and basic Layer 3 troubleshooting across connectivity, VLANs, trunking, link aggregation, routing, packet loss, latency, and interface issues.\nInstall, configure, replace, and validate network equipment and perform rack-and-stack, patching, labeling, and cable-management activities.\nSupport copper, single-mode, and multimode fiber infrastructure, including cross-connects, fiber troubleshooting, cleaning, inspection, and basic testing.\nRespond to network incidents, outages, and degraded services, performing advanced troubleshooting and escalating to Network Engineering, carriers, or vendors when needed.\nCoordinate carrier circuit installations, turn-ups, testing, troubleshooting, and network handoffs.\nSupport network deployments, migrations, upgrades, capacity expansions, maintenance windows, and lifecycle replacement projects.\nPerform network-related remote-hands and smart-hands activities, including equipment installation, removal, relocation, and hardware replacement.\nMaintain network diagrams, port assignments, rack elevations, circuit records, SOPs, troubleshooting guides, and other technical documentation.\nMentor junior Network Operations Technicians and provide technical guidance during troubleshooting and maintenance activities.\nWhat You’ll Need\nMinimum 5 years of experience in network operations, network infrastructure, telecommunications, data center operations, or a related technical environment.\nStrong understanding of Ethernet networking and the TCP/IP protocol suite.\nWorking knowledge of VLANs, 802.1Q trunking, STP/RSTP, link aggregation, ARP, DHCP, DNS, routing, and network segmentation.\nExperience troubleshooting enterprise switches, routers, network appliances, and physical network connectivity.\nStrong knowledge of fiber-optic and copper cabling systems, including structured cabling, patch panels, cross-connects, and carrier circuits.\nExperience using network monitoring and troubleshooting tools to diagnose connectivity, performance, and infrastructure issues.\nAbility to interpret network diagrams, rack elevations, circuit documentation, and technical procedures.\nStrong understanding of incident, problem, and change-management processes.\nAbility to troubleshoot network and infrastructure issues in a mission-critical environment.\nStrong written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, operational discipline, and ability to work effectively across technical teams.\nWe recognize that experience and skills can come from different paths. Qualifications\nExperience supporting large-scale or high-availability data center environments.\nExperience with Juniper Networks equipment or comparable enterprise networking platforms.\nExperience with optical networking, transceivers, fiber testing, and optical power measurement.\nFamiliarity with network monitoring, Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM), ticketing, and configuration-management systems.\nFamiliarity with ISO/IEC 27001, SOC 2, ITIL, and formal change-management practices.\nCCNA, CCNP, Network+, BICSI, or another relevant industry certification.\nExperience with Alpeta Access Control Application or Milestone Enterprise VMS.\nFamiliarity with Building Management Systems (BMS).\nWhat to Expect\nFull-time, on-site work within a 24/7 mission-critical data center in Vineland, New Jersey.\nRegular work within data halls, network rooms, equipment areas, and other operational areas of the facility.\nParticipation in maintenance windows, emergency restoration activities, an on-call rotation, and after-hours incident response may be required.\nTravel may be required.\nPhysical Requirements\nAbility to regularly stand, walk, bend, reach, climb ladders, work within and around equipment racks, safely lift and move equipment weighing up to 50 pounds, and work in data center environments with varying noise levels and
