Some of the areas in which we provide advise and assistance to our clients are: structuring corporate investment and expansion into the United States, developing acquisition strategies of US entities or assets, due diligence in regard to the acquisition of US entities assets, US compliance, including state and local audit defenses, planning to minimize US permanent establishment concerns and remedial planning for permanent establishments that were created inadvertently, state and local planning, including nexus determinations, creating tax planning to minimize a corporation's overall tax liability, and structuring US corporate outbound investments, primarily into Canada\nAbout the team\nOur team is growing! Currently we are seeking a Manager for our US Tax group. With the continued trend toward globalization, most successful Canadian-based companies look to the U.S. for expansion.To minimize tax liabilities, ensure compliance, and take full advantage of cross-border opportunities, our clients need advice from our experts who understand U.S. federal and state taxation laws and their interaction with Canadian tax principles.\nOur team works to research and understand tax transactions, through the knowledge of our clients' business. We provide detailed tax returns and other cross-border tax compliance filings, and assist clients in their dealings withvarious tax authorities. We also perform technical research of taxation issues and assist in the implementation ofvalue-added tax planning strategies\nEnough about us, let’s talk about you\nYou are someone with:\n5-7+ years’ of work experience with US Tax \nHands on experience with preparing and reviewing US and state corporate income tax returns and respective computations such as earning and profits, etc\nHands on experience with writing and reviewing advisory decks, memos/papers and strong research skills \nPassion and ability to incorporate technology into every day work tasks. \nCompleted undergraduate degree, preference given to those with a CPA\nInterpreting financial information, and review of US corporate income tax returns\nStrong leadership abilities to lead & mentor others\nA demonstrated team player with flexibility and initiative\nStrong MS Office skills including Word, PowerPoint and Excel\nAn accounting background would be considered an assetThe poise and bearing to represent Deloitte with the maturity and professionalism that is the hallmark of being the number one professional services firm\n\nTotal Rewards\nThe salary range for this position is $84,000 - $140,000, and individuals may be eligible to participate in our bonus program.
