On a typical engagement you will:\nDesign and deliver GCP landing zones - organization, folder, and project hierarchies; IAM; VPC-SC service perimeters; Shared VPC and hybrid connectivity; logging and monitoring backbone.\nArchitect containerized platforms on GKE (and GKE Enterprise where the client needs hybrid or multi-cluster); design networking, service mesh, and workload identity patterns.\nLead migrations from on-prem and other clouds - lift-and-shift on Compute Engine and GCVE, replatform to GKE and Cloud Run, refactor to managed services - with clear cost, risk, and cutover plans.\nEstablish the security posture: CIS benchmarks, Security Command Center, Binary Authorization, secret management, key management (CMEK/HSM), org policies, and compliance evidence for the client's control framework.\nAutomate everything as code with Terraform (and Config Controller / Config Sync where appropriate); build CI/CD pipelines on Cloud Build or GitHub Actions; drive FinOps practices with dashboards and budget guardrails.\nLead 2-4 engineers on the delivery team and mentor client platform teams for long-term self-sufficiency.\nAbout the team\nThe focus and passion of Deloitte's Cloud Engineering practice is to help our clients become a place where their employees are passionate about the work they do, and can dramatically accelerate the speed at which they deliver value. Our key clients span industries including financial services, energy and resources, consumer and retail, digital-native, and public sector.\nEnough about us, let’s talk about you\nThis is a Senior Consultant role: 7-10 years of total experience with 4-6 years hands-on on Google Cloud (or equivalent cloud with a credible GCP transition path). You will lead workstreams and mentor 2-4 junior team members while working under the direction of a Manager or Senior Manager.\nQualifications\n7-10 years total technology experience; 4-6 years hands-on on Google Cloud (or credible transition from AWS/Azure).\nDeep experience with GCP core services: Compute Engine, GKE, Cloud Run, VPC and hybrid networking (Cloud Interconnect, VPN, Cloud NAT), Cloud Load Balancing, Cloud DNS, Cloud Armor.\npatterns for agent runtimes, egress controls, and cost guardrails for GenAI consumption.\nStrong security background: IAM design, VPC Service Controls, org policies, Security Command Center, Binary Authorization, KMS/CMEK, secret management.\nFluency with Infrastructure as Code - Terraform is required; familiarity with Config Controller, Config Sync, or Crossplane is a plus.\nContainer and orchestration depth: Docker, Kubernetes, Helm; service mesh (Istio / Anthos Service Mesh) and workload identity.\nCI/CD experience with Cloud Build, GitHub Actions, or GitLab; DevOps and SRE practices (SLOs, error budgets, blameless postmortems).\nWorking knowledge of the platform requirements for Gemini Enterprise and Vertex AI workloads - private connectivity, VPC-SC around AI/data services, workload-identity\nFinOps and cost-optimization experience - including visibility and guardrails for GenAI / Vertex AI consumption alongside traditional compute and data.\nStrong client-facing communication; ability to lead technical discovery workshops and land architecture decisions with senior stakeholders.\nGood to have\nGCP certification (Professional Cloud Architect, Professional Cloud Network Engineer, or Professional Cloud Security Engineer).\nGKE Enterprise experience for multi-cluster or hybrid deployments.\nGCVE (Google Cloud VMware Engine) migration experience.\nApigee or Cloud API Gateway experience for API-management scenarios.\nPrior professional-services or regulated-industry (financial services, public sector) experience.\nSecurity Clearance (Reliability / Secret)\nQuebec Locations: Bilingualism in French and English is required for this position due to the nature of the role having interactions with National & Global clients and project teams.\nTotal Rewards\nThe salary range for this position is $80,000 - $138,000, and individuals may be eligible to participate in our bonus program.
