This hands-on role combines accounting ownership, review of key deliverables, and coordination across teams. You will partner closely with the Senior Accounting Manager to resolve accounting issues, strengthen internal controls, and improve processes as Datavant continues to grow. Specific areas of responsibility will evolve based on business needs and team priorities.\nYou will:\nManage assigned areas of the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes, ensuring accurate and timely completion in accordance with accounting policies and U.S. GAAP.\nPrepare and review journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and supporting schedules, ensuring appropriate documentation and timely resolution of reconciling items.\nReview account activity and fluctuations, investigate discrepancies, and coordinate with business partners to resolve accounting issues.\nPartner with the Senior Accounting Manager to establish priorities, coordinate deliverables, and proactively communicate risks, resource needs, and close-related issues.\nProvide guidance and review support to accounting team members, promoting accountability, knowledge sharing, and high-quality work.\nIdentify and implement improvements to accounting processes, documentation, and internal controls, following initiatives through completion.\nCollaborate with the Controllership team and cross-functional partners on financial reporting, audit requests, system implementations, and other projects.\nSupport M&A integration activities, including aligning accounting processes, reconciling balances, and transitioning close responsibilities.\nWhat you will bring to the table:\n6+ years of progressive accounting experience, including responsibility for general ledger accounting and month-end close.\nBachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.\nStrong working knowledge of U.S. GAAP and internal controls, including SOX requirements.\nExperience reviewing accounting deliverables and leading close activities, projects, or team members.\nAbility to work effectively in a high-volume, multi-entity environment with evolving priorities.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the judgment to resolve issues independently and escalate matters appropriately.\nStrong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage competing deadlines and maintain high-quality work.\nClear, effective communication skills and a collaborative approach to working across functions.\nA hands-on approach and willingness to take ownership of both recurring responsibilities and new initiatives.\nSound judgment, integrity, and discretion when handling confidential information.\nCPA strongly preferred but not required.\nExperience with NetSuite, Google Workspace, and FloQast preferred.\nWe are committed to building a diverse team of Datavanters who are all responsible for stewarding a high-performance culture in which all Datavanters belong and thrive.
