The ideal candidate for this role possesses high attention to detail and a depth of knowledge in medical terminology. This role is fully remote with a flexible schedule, allowing you to help shape the future of healthcare from your own workspace!\nWhat you will do:\nCoding Team Lead is responsible for supporting the Coding Supervisors in monitoring coders in quality and efficiency, serving as a resource and facilitator while assisting in monitoring quality and production of the coding team. \n\nReviews rebuttals submitted by coders. Provides education to the coder if the error is correct or sends the rebuttal through the process if they agree the coder’s initial coding was correct. \n\nAnswers coding questions for assigned coders; trending the questions to identify opportunities for additional training. Collaborate with the Client Team and Training Team. \n\nTracks audits completed per coder to ensure coders are receiving timely feedback. Assists with auditing when the coder has not received recent feedback.\n\nSupport new hires released to the production team by being their coder-buddy.\n\nConducts one on one with coders focused on quality improvement. \n\nAssists in tracking coder KPI and quality metrics on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.\n\nCoaches employees who are not meeting the expectations including recommending performance improvement initiatives as needed. \n\nCollaborates with the Quality Department to ensure 95% accuracy expectation is met. \n\nReport trends for education opportunities in both quality and productivity to management for review and/or action. \n\nAssists in coding to meet the monthly production goals while maintaining quality at 95% or higher. \n\nAny other tasks required by management. \n\nWhat you will bring to the table:\nAHIMA certified credentials (CCS, CCS-P) or AAPC certified credentials (CPC, CPC-H, COC, CIC, CRC) \n\nExtensive knowledge of ICD -10 \n\n2 years' HCC coding experience \n\n1+ years' Team Lead experience a plus \n\nA strong knowledge base of medical terminology, medical abbreviations, pharmacology and disease processes \n\nAbility to work in a fast-paced production environment while maintaining high quality \n\nMust be able to follow instructions, meet deadlines and work independently\n\nAbility to be flexible in work environment \n\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to work in a remote environment and time management skills\n\nWorking knowledge of the business use of computer hardware and software to ensure effectiveness and quality of the processing and security of the data \n\nBonus points if:\nYou have current Team Lead experience\n\nYou have some auditing experience\n\nWhat we offer:\nFull Benefits including a 401k Savings Plan\n\nAccess to 20-24 free CEUs per year, provided by Datavant, to support your continuous professional development\n\nCompensation for AAPC/AHIMA dues\n\nCompany-provided equipment including computer, monitor, mouse, etc\n\nComprehensive training led by a credentialed professional coding manager\n\nExceptional service-style management and mentorship (we’re in this together!)\n\nPay ranges for this job title may differ based on location, responsibilities, skills, experience, and other requirements of the role. \n\nThe estimated base pay range per hour for this role is:\n$27—$28 USD\n\nTo ensure the safety of patients and staff, many of our clients require post-offer health screenings and proof and/or completion of various vaccinations such as the flu shot, Tdap, COVID-19, etc. Any requests to be exempted from these requirements will be reviewed by Datavant Human Resources and determined on a case-by-case basis.
