Job Summary
We are looking for a senior profile specialized in HTML email development and newsletter integration to join our Digital Content Team. In this role, you will be responsible for building responsive, visually engaging, and cross-client compatible email campaigns from provided design files.
The ideal candidate possesses deep expertise in HTML/CSS email architecture, table-based layouts, and rendering behavior across all major email clients (including Outlook, Gmail, and Apple Mail). You are fully autonomous in debugging, highly analytical, and able to trace root causes of complex rendering issues to develop solid technical solutions. Hands-on experience with CRM/email delivery platforms-such as Adobe Campaign, Splio, or Salesforce Marketing Cloud-is essential to ensuring seamless, production-ready deployments. Beyond technical proficiency, we need an organized, proactive problem-solver with exceptional attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities
Email Development & Delivery: Develop responsive, accessible, and cross-client compatible HTML email newsletters and templates from design mockups (Figma, Adobe XD, Photoshop).
Technical Integration & Platform QA: Integrate code into CRM and email delivery platforms (e.g., Adobe Campaign, Splio, Salesforce Marketing Cloud) and execute pre-deployment QA.
Advanced Debugging: Autonomously identify, troubleshoot, and fix complex HTML/CSS email rendering issues, dark mode anomalies, and client-specific bugs.
Compatibility Optimization: Apply email-safe CSS, VML, ghost tables, and conditional logic to maintain pixel-perfect rendering across modern and legacy email clients (including desktop Outlook).
Testing & Quality Assurance: Leverage email testing suites (Litmus, Email on Acid) to conduct thorough cross-device, cross-browser, and cross-client validation before release.
Template Architecture & Process Improvement: Maintain and expand scalable email design systems, reusable component libraries, and documentation to drive team efficiency.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with designers, project managers, and production teams to evaluate technical feasibility, streamline workflows, and meet tight deadlines.
Mentorship & Innovation: Assist in mentoring junior team members, share technical knowledge, and stay current on evolving email rendering standards and industry best practices.
Asset & Specification Extraction: Utilize design tools such as Figma or Photoshop to inspect design files, extract visual assets, and gather exact specifications for accurate email implementation.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Multimedia Arts, or a related field (preferred but not required with equivalent experience).
- 3+ years of experience in HTML email development.
- Proven experience building HTML email newsletters from scratch.
- Experience working in a digital agency or production environment is an advantage.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines while maintaining high quality standards.
Required Technical Skills
- Experience: 3+ years of dedicated, hands-on experience in senior-level HTML email development and newsletter integration (agency or production environment preferred).
- Core Technical Skills:
- HTML/CSS: Table-based layouts, nested tables, inline CSS, embedded CSS, fluid/hybrid layouts, media queries, bulletproof CTAs, image optimization, and dark mode styling.
- Outlook-Specific Development: Proficiency with Office Conditional Comments, Ghost Tables, VML (Vector Markup Language) for background images/buttons, DPI scaling fixes, and spacing hacks.
- Platforms: Demonstrated hands-on experience working within CRM or ESP environments such as Adobe Campaign, Splio, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, HubSpot, or Adobe Journey Optimizer (AJO).
- Testing Tools: Active experience using Litmus or Email on Acid for automated cross-client previewing and code analysis.
- Soft Skills & Mindset:
- Highly autonomous with strong self-direction and technical initiative.
- Sharp analytical skills for systematic, root-cause troubleshooting.
- Obsessive attention to detail and a commitment to pixel-perfect execution.
- Strong time management skills and the ability to thrive under tight project deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have)
- Design Tools: Proficiency working directly within Figma or Photoshop to extract assets and specifications.
- Scripting & Automation: Familiarity with JavaScript, scripting languages, or dynamic personalization logic used in marketing automation platforms.
- Version Control: Knowledge of Git or standard version control systems.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Multimedia Arts, or equivalent practical experience.
