As a Liability Claims Adjuster, you will be responsible for handling and supervision of complex and litigated liability and property claims. Responsible for the investigation of coverage, liability and damages, negotiating with contractors, public adjusters and attorneys, through the life of the claim, maintain a pending and closing ratio of 100%, be responsible for the establishment and maintenance of reserves and payments, presenting large loss report and communicate with their manager as well as internal and external customers.\nKey Responsibilities\nNegotiate and settle large exposure commercial general liability and property claims \nPrepare written status and large loss reports for clients\nAbility to interpret routine and complex policy contracts and coverage.\nAbility to plan, organize and establish priorities to maintain various responsibilities under critical deadlines\nAttend mediations and settlement conferences as necessary\nDirect and monitor defense counsel to settle litigated claims\nProvide monetary authority and strategy to counsel to ensure client’s money and claims are protected\nKnowledge of current case law, statutory law, DOI regulations, etc. that apply to claims practices and issues within the territory of operation\nThe ability to determine, evaluate, investigate and resolve claims\nDemonstrate sound analytical skills\nOther duties as assigned\n\nSkills, knowledge & expertise\n5-7 years' experience handling commercial general liability claims\nAdjusters License required- NY preferred or willingness to obtain additional licenses\nProactive, independent, dependable, and takes initiative with consistent follow through\nSuperb written and verbal communication skills conducted in a timely manner with diverse audiences\nSuperior time management skills with capability of working with and meeting deadlines\nExceptional capability to multi-task and prioritize with excellent organization and documentation skills in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment\nExcellent team player with interpersonal skills\nHigh level attention to detail with ability to utilize decision making and problem-solving skills\nCapable of working collaboratively and independently with minimal supervision\nExhibit discretion with sensitive and confidential information\nDisplay a comfort level working with key people at all levels within an organization\n\nEqual Employment Opportunity & Legal Notices\n Benefits\nAt Davies North America, we are dedicated to supporting the well-being and future of our qualifying employees.
