As a vital part of the global Davies Group, we help businesses navigate risk, optimize operations, and spearhead transformation in the insurance and regulated sectors.\n\nWhat's in Store\n The Senior Excess Adjuster is responsible for investigating, evaluating, negotiating, and resolving complex and high exposure liability claims in accordance with company policies, client service standards, and regulatory requirements. Claims handled may include Commercial General Liability, Employer’s Liability, Professional Liability, Law Enforcement Liability, and other casualty or commercial liability exposures. This includes the investigation, determination and evaluation of coverage, liability and damages, and the setting of proper reserves. Identification of applicable insurance, beyond the client’s retention, and timely initial and supplemental reporting to applicable carriers is required.\nKey Responsibilities\nReport to excess and reinsurers on all PGIT SIR members.\nResponsible for investigating and resolving coverage issues between PGIT/PGCS and the excess carrier.\nMonitor the TPA’s handling and assist in obtaining settlement from the respective excess and reinsurers. \nHandle claim reporting consistent with our clients and PGCS policies and claims procedure manual and also in accordance to any statutory, regulatory and ethics requirements.\nAnalyze claim exposures, determine the proper courses of action make recommendations to the TPA’s regarding reserving, litigation and settlement as warranted. Interact extensively with various parties involved in the claim process.\nHandle claims consistent with best practices, client and company policies and procedures and also in accordance with statutory, regulatory and ethical requirements.\nDocument and communicate all claim activity timely and effectively which supports the outcome of claim files, in accordance with established procedures.\nUtilize a system diary system effectively and appropriately to keep excess and reinsurers advised of status.\nExamine and address claim files reserves for accuracy.\nMaintain current knowledge of laws and statutes pertinent to liability claims handling, maintain CEUs and licensing in current and/or active status, as appropriate.\nIssue reimbursement to members for amounts paid above the Self-Insured Retention.\nSkills, knowledge & expertise\nActive Florida All-Lines Adjuster License (5-20 or 6-20).\nA minimum of five years handling all aspects of liability claims and subrogation with a consistent high level of performance and achievement. \nGeneral liability, auto liability, complex and professional liability claims experience required. \nExperience handling Public Entity claims and exposures. \nIndustry designations such as AIC, CPCU, or equivalent.\nExperience handling all aspects of liability claims.\nExtensive knowledge of applicable statutes, accepted industry standards, and practices.\nAbility to successfully evaluate documentation received from the TPA’s and make recommendations to the adjusters. \nAbility to effectively operate a personal computer and related claims and business software. \nMust be self-directed and able to work independently.\nGood communication skills, both oral and written; good customer service skills.\nAssertive self-starter with excellent organizational skills.
