We are one team, always growing putting our clients first.\nA position has arisen within our Information Systems team for aSenior Java Developer, reporting to the Web Development Manager. This is a permanent, full time role.\nKey Responsibilities:\nCollaborate with business stakeholders, vendors, and cross-functional teams to design and deliver solutions that meet functional and non-functional requirements. \nLead the design and implementation of new components, services, and features, ensuring timely delivery and clear communication of project status to stakeholders. \nApply expertise in microservices architecture to develop scalable, resilient, and high-performance solutions. \nEvaluate emerging technologies and third-party solutions, and manage vendor integrations to enhance system capabilities. \nDesign and develop secure, maintainable, and robust technical solutions aligned with industry best practices and organizational standards. \nCreate and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications, guidelines, and standards; actively contribute to improving departmental processes. \nProvide technical leadership and mentorship to junior team members, fostering knowledge sharing and professional growth. \nCollaborate with QA teams and stakeholders to ensure comprehensive testing and quality assurance of delivered solutions. \nContribute to strategic objectives and departmental goals, driving innovation and operational excellence. \nRequirements\nThird Level:\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science Computer Science or IT Degree or equivalent 3rd Level Education\nIndustry Experience:\n5+ years Java/J2EE and related technologies, preferrable with Spring ecosystem.\nSpecific systems knowledge\nStrong knowledge of Spring technologies (Spring MVC, Spring Boot, Batch and Integration)\nExperienced in developing APIs, primarily REST.\nExperienced with build tools like Maven, Gradle.\nExperienced in coding for web application security.\nExperience of SQL & RDBMS development (Oracle, MySql)\nExperience of source control (GIT) and use of IDE (VS Code, IntelliJ). \nWorking knowledge of Linux.\nExperience working within a recognised software development lifecycle such as Agile or Waterfall.\nWorking knowledge of web analytics & best practice for integrating into online applications.\nPractical experience with AI-powered development tools and agents (e.g., GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, or similar) to support the software development lifecycle, including tasks such as code generation, code review, refactoring, and documentation.\nDesirable:\nHands-on experience in building and managing CI/CD pipelines and implementing DevOps practices with Linux, Docker, Kubernetes/OpenShift, and Jenkins.\nHands-on expertise in developing Ansible Playbooks and Azure Bicep templates for automated provisioning and configuration management.\nExposure to cloud-native computing, with familiarity in major cloud platforms such as Azure(preferably), AWS, or GCP considered a strong advantage.\nExperience within the financial services domain is highly desirable.\nWhat we offer\nAt Davy, our people are our biggest investment.
