The campus is designed to use Finland's naturally cool climate for free cooling, with air-cooled chillers that remove the need for freshwater cooling. Join the Lahti team early and help shape how a campus of this scale is built, commissioned, and run.\nAs an Assistant Facilities Engineer you will support the Critical Services and Building Services teams responsible for the continuous and efficient operation of mechanical, electrical, fire, and building services systems, upholding high standards of safety and compliance.\nYou will gain comprehensive exposure to the full range of data centre operations and maintenance management. This role serves as the entry point to a long-term career in the data centre industry. \nYour key responsibilities will include,\nCritical System Management\nOverseeing the installation, operation, and maintenance of all MEP (mechanical, electrical and plumbing) systems within the data centres.\nEnsuring all MEP infrastructure, including mechanical, electrical, and fire suppression systems, and security systems operate reliably and efficiently.\nImplementing and maintaining safety policies, procedures, and best practices.\nTeam collaboration\nCoordinating with shift teams to ensure seamless 24/7 coverage and effective handovers between shifts.\nDeveloping processing plans and optimizing resource allocation.\nMaintenance and Upgrades\nPlanning and overseeing preventative and corrective maintenance activities, ensuring all equipment and systems are serviced according to manufacturer and company standards.\nCoordinating with vendors and contractors for maintenance and upgrade projects, ensuring minimal impact on operations.\nImplementing preventive maintenance actions to minimize downtime.\nDiagnosing and resolving issues promptly.\nSafety and Compliance\nEnsuring all equipment operations comply with relevant building codes, and environmental, health & safety regulations.\nMaintaining up-to-date documentation and records to support compliance audits and certifications.\nTechnical Support\nEvaluating operational systems and facility infrastructure to ascertain and improve operational efficiencies.\nGathering and analysing data and reports.\nRequirements\nTechnical skills\nDegree in Engineering or a related field.\nSome hands-on experience in facilities management, engineering, building services or similar. \nBasic knowledge of data centre mechanical infrastructure, including HVAC, chillers, pumps and compressors.\nSoft skills\nEffective communication skills and the ability to work with a multidisciplinary team.\nProactive, solutions-oriented mindset with high integrity and a collaborative working style.\nAbility to work in a fast-paced operational environment.\nProficiency in English, both written and spoken.
