Joining DayOne means becoming part of a high-growth, international organization that is helping power the future of cloud, AI, and the digital economy.\nPOSITION OVERVIEW\nReporting to the Critical Services Manager, the Electrical Engineering Manager oversees the electrical infrastructure and systems of our hyperscale data centres. This role ensures the continuous and efficient operation of electrical systems, upholds high safety and compliance standards, and supports the Critical Services Manager in strategic initiatives. The successful candidate will lead and mentor a team of electrical engineers, new grads and technicians, ensuring the delivery of critical electrical services 24/7.\nRESPONSIBILITIES\n Electrical System Management:\n-Oversee the design, installation, operation, and maintenance of electrical systems within the data centres.\n-Ensure all electrical infrastructure, including power distribution units (PDUs), uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), generators, and switchgear, operates reliably and efficiently.\n-Implement and maintain electrical safety policies, procedures, and best practices.\nTeam Leadership:\n-Lead, mentor, and develop a team of electrical engineers and technicians, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.\n-Coordinate with shift teams to ensure seamless 24/7 coverage and effective handovers between shifts.\n-Conduct regular training sessions and performance evaluations to enhance team capabilities and productivity.\nMaintenance and Upgrades:\n-Plan and oversee preventative and corrective maintenance activities, ensuring all electrical equipment and systems are serviced according to manufacturer and company standards.\n-Coordinate with vendors and contractors for electrical maintenance and upgrade projects, ensuring minimal impact on operations.\nSafety and Compliance:\nEnsure all electrical operations comply with relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations.\nMaintain up-to-date documentation and records to support compliance audits and certifications.\nundefined\nTechnical Support:\n-Provide technical expertise and support for electrical systems, including troubleshooting and resolving complex electrical issues.\n-Collaborate with other engineering and operations teams to ensure integrated and efficient system performance.\nStrategic Initiatives:\n-Support the Critical Services Manager in developing and implementing strategic initiatives to enhance electrical system performance and support business growth.\n-Participate in budget planning and cost management activities to ensure operational efficiency and financial performance.\nCANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS:\nBachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.\nMust be fluent in Japanese\nPreferably business level in English (Conversational level is acceptable)\nMinimum of 7-10 years of experience in electrical engineering, with at least 3-5 years in a managerial role.\n Strong knowledge of data centre electrical infrastructure, including power distribution, UPS systems, generators, and switchgear.\nProven experience in managing technical teams and 24/7 operations.\nExcellent problem-solving skills and the ability to manage complex electrical challenges.\nStrong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.\nCertifications such as Professional Engineer (PE) or similar are highly desirable.\nDayOne is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
