Trusted by leading hyperscalers and businesses, the company engineers, builds, and operates high-capacity, AI-ready campuses with speed, scale, and reliability.\nPosition Overview\nThe MCR Team is a specialised, in-house engineering organisation designed to provide rapid response, advanced troubleshooting, and self-perform maintenance for mission-critical systems across the data centre portfolio.\nThe Mechanical Engineer is responsible for overseeing and performing mechanical maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair activities across mission-critical mechanical systems in the data centre. This includes chilled water systems, FWU/CRAC equipment, CDU, pumps, valves, motors, heat exchangers, and other HVAC/mechanical infrastructure.\nThe Mechanical Engineer ensures safe execution of work, restoration of system functionality, and compliance with operational and safety standards, supporting site reliability and uptime.\nKey Responsibilities\nPerform mechanical maintenance, troubleshooting, and component replacement on CHW systems, pumps, motors, valves, FWU/CRAC equipment, and related mechanical systems.\nDiagnose mechanical faults and conduct repair works on chillers, heat exchangers, CDU units, VFD-driven equipment, and mechanical control devices.\nAssist in developing MOPs and SOPs for mechanical maintenance and ensuring all works are carried out safely and accurately.\nSupervise mechanical technicians and ensure safe and proper execution of mechanical tasks.\nReview maintenance quality, verify safety permits, and ensure accuracy of mechanical documentation and reporting.\nSupport emergency response during cooling or mechanical-related incidents and assist in system stabilisation and recovery.\nConduct routine mechanical inspections, identify risks, and raise early warnings to prevent system failure.\nEnsure compliance with statutory requirements, internal standards, and maintenance logs, and keep mechanical service records up to date.\nCandidate Requirements\nDiploma/Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.\n3+ years hands-on experience in mechanical maintenance within data centres, critical facilities, or industrial mechanical systems.\nStrong understanding of CHW systems, FWU/CRAC equipment, pumps, valves, motors, CDU, heat exchangers, etc. \nAbility to supervise and guide mechanical technicians during maintenance and repair works.\nGood knowledge of safety practices including LOTO, chemical handling, and mechanical isolation procedures.\nProven experience in troubleshooting mechanical systems and implementing effective repair solutions.\nAbility to work under pressure during critical incidents.\nWilling to be on call 24 X 7 \nDayOne is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
