The successful candidates will be responsible for providing services ranging from feasibility studies to detailed designs through to construction and completion of large national infrastructure projects. The candidates can expect to work on a wide variety of projects in both the public and private sectors. Mentoring by assigned members of our Leadership Team will be provided as part of either our Graduate Training Programme or direct mentorship post Chartership. Rapid career progression within an expanding team is possible for successful candidates.\nKey roles and responsibilities:\nReporting to a Team Leader, the ideal candidates, pending experience, will display the following key traits and skills:-\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills\nStrong numerical skills and problem-solving abilities\nAn understanding of the fundamentals of civil engineering including the design of drainage, levels, roads, watermains and earthworks\nA good understanding of design principles set out in national / local authority standards and technical guidance documents such as GDSDS, IW CoP, DMURS, Cycle Design Manual, DMRB, and TII Publications etc\nExperience in the design and specification of civil engineering materials\nAbility to interrogate baseline information and prepare innovative, cost effective design solutions for public and private clients using the latest design suites and software applications\nMulti-disciplinary design co-ordination experience and be able to present design solutions effectively & holistically internally and within a wider project team\nPerforming site visits and inspections to monitor project progress, quality, answer contractor queries and adherence to specifications\nAbility to mentor junior staff in developing their own technical expertise.\nGood planning and organisational skills\nFamiliarity with the preparation of contract documents for Public Works Contracts and participation in the administration of contracts\nDeveloping an awareness of project and commercial management requirements on large infrastructure projects\nDesired qualifications and requirements:\nMinimum 2 to 5 years civil engineering experience\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills\nMinimum Level 8 Civil Engineering Degree (Hons) and working towards Chartered status with Engineers Ireland or equivalent.\nCustomer-focused with growing client relationship management skills\nAbility to mentor junior staff in developing their own technical expertise.\nGood planning and organisational skills.\nA current driver’s licence is desirable.\nWhat we offer:\nSignificant investment in your career development\nCompetitive market salary\nPension matched up to 5%\nGenerous Annual Leave Allowance (basic allowance 23 days)\nAdditional service recognition leave\nHybrid Working\nTax Saver Scheme & Bike to Work Scheme.\nPayment of Annual Professional Institution Subscriptions\nWellbeing support including access to an independent Employee Assistance Scheme\nA working culture that is diverse, inclusive and looks after your wellness at work.\nCompany Social Committee which organises many social events throughout the year.\nContinuous technical learning paths through a wide range of activities, knowledge sharing platforms, seminars and workshops, lunch and learn presentations and other events that can support your career growth.\nCPD Accreditation:\nWe are a certified CPD Accredited Employer with Engineers Ireland (EI) , recognising that the company can only grow and develop through its people.
