The paralegal should be equipped with the knowledge and expertise to support a supervising attorney and enhance attorney efficiency, effectiveness, and productivity. All DBL employees operate under a ‘client first’ philosophy, in all things, we seek to provide exceptional services to our client.\nJOB DUTIES\nAssist attorneys in preparation of client work including closings, hearings and trials; assist with discovery/investigating facts, researching and other miscellaneous duties.\nEffectively prioritize work; monitor deadlines.\nFile and retrieve court documents electronically for State and Federal Court in Ohio, Indiana and Kentucky.\nFile and retrieve court documents for Bankruptcy courts. \nTrack and bill your time.\nInformation Management.\nOrganize, index and track files; maintain files which are organized chronologically, numerically and/or by subject matter.\nCreate, maintain, and retire files according to attorney/client preference.\nAssist attorneys in managing client contacts, emails, and hard copy documents.\nAssist with Trial Presentations as needed.\nOther duties as assigned, when assigned duties are completed, you are expected to seek out additional work and ask how you can provide assistance to others.\nCOMPETENCY AND QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS \nCertification or degree in Paralegal studies (Bachelor’s degree preferred) or equivalent legal support experience.\nProficiency with the following software products:MS Office Products (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook)\nNuance PDF Converter (bates stamping, redaction, editing, combing PDFs)\niManage/WorkSite (Maintain client matter files in paper or electronically as directed by attorney, scanning and adding hyperlink documents to indexes)\nSecure e-mail \n\nInvestigative mindset for strong research, analytical, and critical thinking skills. \nExcellent professional communication skills. \nAttention to detail and ability to proofread for grammar, spelling, punctuation, format, and content. \nAbility to prioritize and monitor deadlines while working on multiple matters, with a sense of ownership\nCollaboration and Teamwork\nMaintain firm and client confidentiality \nCOMPANY OVERVIEW\nCelebrating over 65 years of excellence, DBL Law is one of the largest firms in Louisville and Greater Cincinnati and the largest Northern Kentucky-based law firm.
