We’re looking for an experienced HR professional to help us build it from the ground up.\nAbout the Role\nAs our Senior Human Resources Generalist, you’ll play a key part in launching our Columbia office. You’ll lead the full employee lifecycle, from recruiting and onboarding through engagement, employee relations, compliance, and offboarding. You’ll also oversee day-to-day office operations to keep the workplace safe, organized, and welcoming. You’ll report to the Director of Human Resources, act as a trusted advisor to managers and employees, and mentor HR coordinator-level staff.\nWhat You’ll Do\nRecruiting & Onboarding\nSupport full-cycle recruiting for assigned roles: hiring manager intake, sourcing, screening, interview coordination, and offers\nBuild our onboarding process from scratch, including pre-start check-ins, paperwork, and new hire systems setup\nBe the main point of contact for new hires from offer acceptance through their first weeks\nOversee I-9 verification, background checks, drug screening, and fingerprinting to ensure timely, compliant completion\nMaintain and optimize our ATS/HRIS\nEngagement & Retention\nDesign, run, and analyze new hire and exit surveys, and present trends and recommendations to HR leadership\nIdentify retention risks and recommend proactive solutions\nSupport recognition programs, engagement initiatives, and culture-focused communications\nHR Strategy, Compliance & Employee Relations\nAdvise managers and employees on HR policies and workplace concerns\nLead or support investigations, conflict resolution, and performance improvement plans\nEnsure compliance with employment laws (FMLA, ADA, EEO, FLSA, workers’ compensation) and keep audit-ready personnel records\nMaintain the employee handbook, policies, and SOPs\nSupport performance management cycles and benefits administration, including open enrollment\nTrack HR metrics such as turnover, time-to-fill, and engagement\nMentor HR Coordinators and junior team members\nProcess Documentation & HR Projects\nCreate process flow charts, SOPs, and job aids for core HR workflows\nLead or contribute to projects like handbook updates, HRIS improvements, and policy rollouts\nOffice Management & Facilities\nServe as the main contact for daily office operations\nManage relationships with landlords, building management, and vendors (janitorial, maintenance, security, HVAC)\nOrder and manage supplies, equipment, and vendor accounts\nPlan workstation setup and seating for new hires with IT\nOversee safety and emergency preparedness, including fire drills and first aid supplies\nHandle mail, deliveries, badge/key access, and occasional front-desk coverage\nPlan company events and employee appreciation activities\nTrack the facilities budget and review invoices\nRequirements\nWhat We’re Looking For\nRequired:\nBachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent education and experience\n5+ years of progressive HR generalist experience, including full-cycle recruiting, employee relations, and compliance\nWorking knowledge of federal and state employment law (FMLA, ADA, EEO, FLSA, workers’ compensation)\nStrong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to juggle multiple priorities and stakeholders\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills\nProficiency with HRIS/ATS platforms and experience writing clear process documentation\nSound judgment and attention to detail with confidential information (I-9s, background checks, employee relations matters)\nA warm, approachable, professional style and real enthusiasm for the candidate and employee experience\nPreferred:\nExperience mentoring or leading junior HR staff\nPaylocity experience\nExperience with office operations,
