The role supports customers throughout the\nlifecycle of their environments, from planning and installation through configuration,\nperformance tuning, knowledge transfer, and ongoing optimization.\nThe role requires strong hands-on expertise across DDN storage platforms,\nEXAScaler/Lustre file systems, Linux, high-speed networking, and data-centre\ninfrastructure. The engineer works closely with customers, Sales, Support, Product\nEngineering, and other Professional Services team members to deliver successful\nprojects.\nWhat Will You Do:\nPlan and execute customer installations, upgrades, expansions, migrations, and\nsystem health checks.\nPerform hardware installation activities, including inventory verification, rack\u0002and-stack, cabling, power-on, and hardware health checks.\nInstall and configure DDN storage systems, EXAScaler file systems, DDN Insight,\nand related software components.\nConfigure file systems, client connectivity, authentication, networking,\nmonitoring, and high-availability features.\nConduct performance benchmarking, analysis, tuning, and capacity or\ninfrastructure assessments.\nTroubleshoot complex hardware, operating-system, networking, file-system, and\nperformance issues.\nCoordinate with DDN Support and Engineering teams for escalations, defects,\nreplacement parts, and advanced technical resolution.\nWhat Will You Bring:\nValidate customer environments against implementation prerequisites,\nincluding rack space, power, cooling, network connectivity, IP addressing, DNS,\nNTP, and remote access requirements.\nLead or contribute to implementation schedules, risk and mitigation plans,\nacceptance testing, handover, and customer sign-off.\nDeliver customer demonstrations, technical workshops, and knowledge-transfer\nsessions.\nProduce installation documentation, configuration records, health-check\nreports, test results, and technical recommendations.\nMaintain accurate project, customer, and installed-base information.\nTravel to customer sites when required and provide remote implementation\nsupport across regional and international time zones.\nQualifications:\nBachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Engineering,\nInformation Technology, or a related discipline.\n5+ years of experience in infrastructure engineering, storage, systems\nadministration, data-centre operations, or a related field.\nHands-on experience with Linux systems administration and troubleshooting.\nExperience implementing enterprise storage, HPC, AI, or high-performance\ncomputing environments.\nStrong understanding of IP networking, Ethernet, InfiniBand or other high-speed\ninterconnects.\nExperience with file systems such as Lustre, NFS, or parallel file systems (gpfs).\nAbility to read system logs, interpret performance data, and troubleshoot issues\nmethodically.\nStrong written and verbal communication skills.\nAbility to work independently while collaborating effectively with distributed\ntechnical teams.\nWillingness and ability to travel to customer sites","description_format":"text","description_chars":3200,"description_truncated":false,"requirements":{"experience_years_min":5,"management_years_min":null,"team_size_min":null,"manages_managers":false,"education":null,"security_clearance":false,"languages":[]},"benefits":[],"hiring_locations":[{"name":"Australia","iso":"AU","kind":"country"}],"hiring_excludes":[],"relocation_offered":false,"industries":["Enterprise Storage Systems","Servers & Data Center Hardware"],"lifecycle":[{"event":"open","at":"2026-09-24T10:10:16Z"}],"liveness":{"score":99,"band":"hot","label":"Hiring now","p_open":1,"p_active":0.993,"p_room":1,"age_days":1,"expected_fill_days":42,"reasons":["conf:1","urgency","velocity","win:early"],"computed_at":"2026-09-26T05:45:00Z"},"pay":null,"html_url":"https://alion.io/job/ddn-professional-services-engineer-2","json_url":"https://alion.io/job/ddn-professional-services-engineer-2.json","meta":{"generated_at":"2026-09-27T03:36:03Z","cache_seconds":300,"methodology":"https://alion.io/methodology","terms":"https://alion.io/terms","contact":"https://alion.io/contact","api":"https://alion.io/developers","usage":{"tier":"crawler","counted_by":"address","units_charged":1,"used_today":3391,"day_limit":5000,"remaining_today":1609,"minute_limit":60,"resets_at":"2026-09-28T00:00:00Z"}}}
