The engineer will act as a trusted\non-site technical resource, working closely with the customer’s infrastructure, platform,\nKubernetes, networking, security, and operations teams.\nThe role requires hands-on expertise across DDN storage platforms, EXAScaler/Lustre,\nLinux, high-speed networking, data-centre infrastructure, Kubernetes, and the\nContainer Storage Interface (CSI). The engineer will provide proactive operational\nsupport, incident response, problem management, capacity planning, performance\noptimization, and technical coordination with DDN Support and Engineering.\nKey Responsibilities\nProvide on-site operational ownership for DDN storage systems and associated\nEXAScaler/Lustre environments.\nMonitor storage health, availability, capacity, performance, alerts, and system\ntrends.\nRespond to incidents, service requests, and operational events in accordance\nwith agreed severity and response targets.\nLead technical triage, fault isolation, recovery, and root-cause analysis for\nstorage, file-system, Linux, networking, and integration issues.\nCoordinate with customer operations teams, DDN Support, Engineering,\nhardware vendors, and other stakeholders during major incidents.\nMaintain and troubleshoot EXAScaler/Lustre file systems, metadata services,\nstorage targets, client connectivity, failover, and recovery procedures.\nSupport Kubernetes environments that consume DDN storage, including cluster\nintegration, persistent volumes, storage classes, access modes, and workload\u0002level storage troubleshooting.\nConfigure, validate, and troubleshoot CSI drivers and related Kubernetes storage\ncomponents\nInvestigate issues across the Kubernetes-to-storage path, including pods, nodes,\nkubelet, CSI controller and node plugins, APIs, mounts, permissions,\nnetworking, and backend storage.\nSupport NFS, parallel file-system, block, and other storage access protocols\nwhere applicable.\nPerform planned maintenance, upgrades, expansions, migrations, hardware\nreplacements, and configuration changes using approved change-management\nprocesses.\nDevelop and maintain operational runbooks, standard operating procedures,\nrecovery procedures, escalation guides, and troubleshooting documentation.\nConduct regular health checks, capacity reviews, performance assessments,\nand operational-readiness reviews.\nIdentify risks, recurring failure patterns, single points of failure, and opportunities\nto improve reliability and automation.\nValidate backup, restore, replication, disaster-recovery, and business-continuity\nprocedures where applicable.\nSupport capacity forecasting for storage, metadata, network, client, and data\u0002growth requirements.\nAssist with performance benchmarking, workload analysis, tuning, and service\u0002level reporting.\nMaintain accurate configuration management, asset records, incident records,\nproblem records, and installed-base information.\nParticipate in on-call, out-of-hours, or escalation coverage as required by the\ncustomer environment.\nProvide technical briefings, knowledge transfer, and operational training to\ncustomer teams.\nContribute to implementation schedules, risk and mitigation plans, acceptance\ntesting, handover, and customer sign-off.\nRequired Qualifications and Experience\nBachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Engineering,\nInformation Technology, or a related discipline.\nAt least 5 years of experience in infrastructure engineering, storage\nadministration, systems administration, data-centre operations, or a related\nfield.\nHands-on experience supporting enterprise storage, HPC, AI, cloud, or high\u0002performance
