The responsibilities of this position are carried out with particular attention to maintaining customer property and working as a trusted advisor. The Service Technician serves as a Dead River Company ambassador by adhering to our Brand Promise.\nEssential Functions:\nInstall, troubleshoot, service, and repair oil and/or propane heating equipment and appliances in accordance with applicable codes, safety requirements, and company policies.\nPerform efficiency tests, tune-ups, and service inspections.\nHelp ensure work is completed safely and correctly the first time to minimize callbacks.\nDeliver professional, courteous service while treating customers and their property with care.\nHelp customers understand Dead River Company products and services and recommend appropriate options based on their needs.\nMaintain a clean, organized service vehicle and ensure tools and equipment are in safe operating condition.\nAccurately record parts and labor associated with service calls.\nMaintain and track parts inventory assigned to the service vehicle.\nPromptly report accidents, spills, and liability claims.\nFor qualified propane technicians, perform Gas Check inspections according to applicable codes and company policies.\nPerform other work-related duties as assigned.\nAssists in the training of apprentices.\nHighly Competitive Compensation and Industry Leading Benefits- Paid weekly!\nHealth Insurance - Premiums as low as $6.41 for full-time employees!\nDental insurance and Vision Insurance.\nCompany Provided Life insurance, Short-term and Long-Term disability.\n401(k) plan with company match.\nPaid time off and paid holidays.\nTuition assistance for employees and scholarships available for employees’ children.\nDiscounts on our products and services.\nOpportunities for growth throughout our footprint.\nExperience:\nSuccessful completion of oil burner and or propane training course or CETP/PEP program desired; training and education provided.\nMust have at least one year of relevant oil and/or propane service experience.\nMust have worked under a Master for requisite number of hours.\nEducation:\n A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Technical school training is preferred.\nCertification and Licensing:\nMust possess a valid Maine Oil Burner Technician license appropriate to the work performed.\nMust possess the applicable Maine Propane and Natural Gas Technician license/authority for propane installation, service, and repair.\nNora Certification preferred.\nApplicable CETP/PEP training and certification required for propane work.\nHAZMAT endorsement preferred.\nKnowledge of HVAC, wiring and/or plumbing preferred.\nUniversal 608 EPA certification for AC/Refrigeration/Heat Pumps preferred.\nMust be able to pass a pre-employment physical.\nMust have a valid motor vehicle drivers’ license. Driving record is reviewed at employment, and annually thereafter, and must meet company standards.
