This is a full-time, seasonal role (exact start and end dates may vary based on weather and workload).\nOur Railroad Crossing Applicators play an important role in applying vegetation control treatments at railroad crossings, ensuring every project is completed to contract specifications with safety as the top priority.\nKey Responsibilities\nFill trucks with water/chemical mix.\nPerform minor weed eating with an industrial weed eater and chainsaw work (16\" bar minimum) - approx. 25% of each day.\nPull and roll up 300-500 feet of hose up to 32 times per day.\nSpray 8-10 railroad crossings daily.\nSafely drive and operate spray trucks between crossings.\nCall MTM for daily job briefings.\nComplete required end-of-day paperwork.\nPerform other duties as assigned.\n High School Diploma or equivalent.\n21+ years of age or older.\nValid driver’s license with at least 5 years of clean driving history.\nAbility to pass a pre-employment drug screen, DOT physical, and federal background check for railroad property access.\n Ability to travel 1-3 weeks at a time, home weekends except for 2-3 weeks of the entire season.(DCS provides hotel accommodations and per diem).\nFlexible schedule:Most work is Monday-Friday, 7am-4pm, with 10-12-hour shifts.\nSome weekend or night work may be required.\nHours may vary with weather and workload.\n\nOccasionally travel to offices during breaks for routine truck/equipment maintenance.\nMust comply with company drug and alcohol policy.\nTraining Provided\nPaid training in vegetation identification, chemical usage, safety procedures, application methods, and equipment operation/maintenance. \n Benefits & Compensation\nCompensation range: Up to $30/ hour depending on experience.\nChallenging and rewarding work environment\nCompetitive medical, dental, vision, and prescription drug coverage\n401(k) with company match\nGenerous paid time off\nCareer development opportunities\nEmployee referral bonus\nPay increases available for:Prior Hi-Rail/vegetation spray industry experience\nEarning a Commercial Pesticide Applicator’s License after hire.\n\nCome be a part of the DeAngelo family, today! \nDCS is an equal opportunity employer and complies with all hiring and employment regulations.
