In a fast-changing retail environment, effective and authentic communication is vital to building trust, aligning our teams, and amplifying the impact of our work across internal and external audiences.\nWe are looking to hire an experienced Software Engineer to join the integrations team.\nThis role will be based out of our central Manchester office.\nWHAT YOU'LL BE DOING\nYou’ll work across a serverless, event-driven architecture on AWS, contributing to services that ingest, enrich, and distribute millions of product records across our brands and e-commerce partners.\nBuilding and extending serverless data pipelines using AWS Lambda, EventBridge, SQS, and Step Functions\nDeveloping and maintaining GraphQL APIs via AWS AppSync\nIntegrating with third-party e-commerce platforms and marketplace APIs\nManaging cloud infrastructure using Terraform and AWS CDK\nSupporting AI-driven product enrichment work using AWS Bedrock\nWriting well-tested TypeScript across a microservices monorepo, with some Python\nwhere needed\nWHAT WE LOOK FOR\nEssential:\nSolid TypeScript / Node.js experience in a production environment\nHands-on experience with AWS serverless services (Lambda, SQS, EventBridge, S3, DynamoDB)\nExperience with infrastructure-as-code, using Terraform and/or AWS CDK\nComfort working in an event-driven, microservices architecture\nFamiliarity with relational databases (PostgreSQL) and NoSQL stores (DynamoDB)\nExperience writing unit and integration tests (we use Jest)\nWorking knowledge of CI/CD practices\nNice to Have:\nExperience with AWS AppSync or GraphQL API development\nPython scripting in a data or pipeline context\nKnowledge of data pipeline patterns or ETL/ELT workflows\nExposure to AWS Athena or data warehousing concepts\nExperience with e-commerce, marketplace or product data integrations\nWORKING WITH US\nAt Debenhams Group we thrive on change, innovation, and pace.
