We extensively use AI coding agents such as Claude Code, Codex, and similar tools to improve engineering productivity.\nYou should be comfortable using AI agents as part of your daily development workflow while maintaining ownership of the technical decisions, architecture, code quality, testing, maintainability, and production readiness of the software.\nYou will be expected to take problems from initial requirements through design, development, testing, deployment, and production support.\n\nResponsibilities\nDesign, develop, and maintain scalable Python backend services and APIs.\nBuild and maintain integrations between customer and our systems.\nDevelop workflow, operational process, and dossier-management capabilities.\nDesign and implement document ingestion, extraction, validation, and processing functionality.\nDevelop reliable asynchronous processing, background workflows, and failure-handling mechanisms.\nTranslate customer-specific requirements into reusable and scalable product capabilities.\nIdentify common patterns across customer implementations and develop platform-level solutions that can benefit multiple customers.\nWork closely with customers, product teams, and fellow engineers to understand operational requirements and translate them into technical solutions.\nTake full ownership of features from requirement analysis through design, development, testing, deployment, and production monitoring.\nInvestigate and resolve production issues while identifying improvements that prevent similar issues from occurring again.\nWrite clean, maintainable, well-tested, and production-ready code.\nContinuously improve existing architecture as the platform and customer base scale.\nEvaluate technical trade-offs and determine when quick implementation is appropriate and when a more scalable architectural solution is required.\nUse AI coding agents effectively to accelerate development while maintaining engineering quality and technical years of professional software engineering experience.\nStrong hands-on experience with Python and backend development.\nStrong understanding of APIs, databases, backend architecture, and distributed application systems.\nExperience designing and developing REST APIs and system integrations.\nExperience working with relational and/or NoSQL databases.\nExperience with asynchronous processing, background jobs, queues, or event-driven systems.\nExperience taking ownership of software running in production environments.\nExperience with cloud platforms and cloud-based application development.\nStrong understanding of automated testing and software quality practices.\nExperience working within a SaaS, platform, product, or startup environment.\nStrong practical experience using AI coding tools such as Claude Code, Codex, or comparable AI development agents as part of day-to-day engineering work.\nAbility to review, understand, validate, and improve AI-generated code rather than relying on generated output without verification.\nStrong debugging, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.\nAbility to understand the impact of technical changes across APIs, databases, integrations, workflows, and the overall platform architecture.\nAbility to work effectively with a high degree of autonomy and ownership.\nStrong communication and collaboration skills.\nAbility to work with evolving requirements and independently shape solutions where detailed specifications may not initially exist.\n\nDesired Skills\nExperience building workflow automation or operational
