You'll support our Sales team through pre-sales activities and Proof of Concepts (POCs), while assembling complex data sets that meet business requirements and drive actionable insights. \nThis role combines hands-on technical delivery with client stakeholder management, requiring you to deliver billable client engagements while progressively building the consulting, technical and relationship management skills needed to take ownership of projects and client outcomes.\nResponsibility and Accountability\nWorking closely with the Engagement Lead, the Data Engineer is responsible for delivering project outcomes, executing agreed project scope and ensuring client objectives are achieved.\nEngage with clients to conceptualise data solutions. \nModernise existing data environments. \nAssist the Sales team with pre-sales activities and Proof of Concepts (POCs). \nProvide technical assistance and guidance to junior consultants, while supporting intermediate consultants where appropriate. \nCreate and maintain optimal data pipeline architecture. \nAssemble large, complex data sets that meet functional and non-functional business requirements. \nIdentify, design and implement internal process improvements, including automating manual processes, optimising data delivery and redesigning infrastructure for greater scalability. \nBuild the infrastructure required for the optimal extraction, transformation and loading (ETL) of data from a wide variety of data sources using Microsoft technologies. \nBuild analytics tools that utilise data pipelines to provide actionable insights into customer acquisition, operational efficiency and other key business performance metrics. \nWork with stakeholders, including the Executive, Product, Data and Design teams, to resolve data-related technical issues and support their data infrastructure needs. \nWork with data and analytics experts to enhance the functionality and capability of our data systems. \nParticipate in technical reviews and quality assurance activities. \nAssist with technical training and knowledge transfer for consultants and clients. \nContribute to the technical development of junior consultants through mentoring and knowledge sharing. \nContribute to and progressively lead technical blogs, forums and/or workshops. \nAssist the Support Desk where applicable. \nBalance team support responsibilities with billable work, depending on capacity and utilisation. \nUndertake any other reasonable duties consistent with the responsibilities of the role, as requested by management.\nWhat skills and experience would be ideal?\nExperience building and maintaining data pipeline architecture and ETL/ELT processes. \nExperience with modern data platform technologies such as Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Snowflake or similar modern data platforms. \nDemonstrated ability to learn new technologies quickly and adapt in a fast-paced consulting environment.\nStrong SQL skills and experience assembling large, complex data sets. \nExperience modernising and migrating legacy data environments to cloud platforms. \nAbility to design and implement process improvements, automation and scalable infrastructure. \nExperience building analytics tools that deliver actionable business insights. \nExposure to client-facing consulting, including solution conceptualisation and requirements gathering. \nExposure to pre-sales activities and Proof of Concept (POC) development. \nAbility to provide technical assistance and guidance to team members, including junior consultants.\nStrong stakeholder engagement skills across technical and executive audiences. \nExperience participating in technical reviews and quality assurance activities. \nAbility to deliver technical training and knowledge transfer sessions to colleagues and clients. \nCommitment to knowledge sharing through technical blogs, forums, workshops or other learning initiatives. \nStrong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. \nExcellent written and verbal communication skills. \nRelevant tertiary qualification in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience). \nRelevant certifications (e.g. Microsoft Azure Data Engineer Associate) are
