The position installs, configures, secures, monitors, tunes, patches, backs up, and recovers Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, and MySQL database environments. The DBA works closely with the Government Technical Service Area Lead, development teams, and application hosting teams to maintain reliable, scalable, secure, and well-documented database services.\nThis position is fully remote. \nDuties & Responsibilities\nDatabase Management\nInstall, configure, and maintain Oracle (12c, 19c), SQL Server (2012-2017), and MySQL databases.\nMonitor and tune database/system performance to ensure maximum uptime and efficiency.\nSupport database client software installations and integrations.\nBackup & Recovery\nImplement and manage database backup and recovery solutions (RMAN, VEEAM).\nConduct regular recovery testing to validate system resilience.\nMaintenance & Security\nApply database patches, upgrades, and system security updates in compliance with Federal standards and STIGs.\nMonitor and maintain database security, access, and health using tools such as Oracle Enterprise Manager and Splunk.\nIdentify, document, and resolve vulnerabilities and risks.\nCollaboration & Documentation\nWork closely with development and hosting teams to deploy scalable and secure solutions.\nProvide technical documentation, SOPs, system diagrams, and configuration records.\nSupport testing of in-house and COTS applications to ensure smooth deployment.\nCompliance & Incident Response\nFollow BOR and DOI security policies and procedures.\nReport security incidents promptly and participate in risk assessments and mitigation activities.\nContribute to contingency planning, audits, and continuous process improvements.\nQualifications\nAbility to obtain a Public Trust clearance. \nBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field; or equivalent work experience of greater depth and scope.\nHands-on experience with Oracle (12c/19c), SQL Server (2012-2017), and MySQL.\nStrong background in Linux (6.x+) and Windows Server (2012 R2+).\nProficiency in backup & recovery solutions (RMAN, VEEAM).\nScripting knowledge: bash, Perl, PowerShell, TSQL, PLSQL.\nFamiliarity with monitoring tools such as Oracle Enterprise Manager, Splunk, and CheckMK.\nExcellent communication and documentation skills.\nAvailability for after-hours and on-call support when required.\nWillingness to travel occasionally for regional support needs.\nOur Equal Employment Opportunity Policy\nEEO and Affirmative Action Policy: DecisionPoint Corporation is an Equal Employment Opportunity and Affirmative Action employer.
