This role serves as a technical leader within the Digital Services team, responsible for developing, enhancing, and maintaining Military OneSource web experiences while helping shape the future of digital products and services delivered under MODES III. The successful candidate will combine deep expertise in front-end development, WordPress engineering, accessibility, and user experience with the flexibility to support emerging applications, mobile experiences, customer-facing platforms, and digital modernization initiatives. The Senior Front End & Digital Experience Engineer collaborates closely with UX designers, product owners, accessibility specialists, content strategists, backend developers, business analysts, and government stakeholders to deliver modern, accessible, responsive, and user-centered digital experiences.\nThis position is fully remote.\nDuties & Responsibilities\nServe as a technical lead for Military OneSource and related MC&FP websites.\nBuild and maintain responsive, accessible, and user-centered web experiences using WordPress, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and related technologies.\nTranslate UX wireframes, prototypes, and design concepts into production-ready solutions.\nImplement interactive user experiences and front-end functionality that improve customer engagement and satisfaction.\nEnsure Section 508 and WCAG accessibility compliance across all websites, applications, and digital experiences.\nCollaborate with backend developers to integrate APIs, services, and dynamic content.\nSupport content management, template development, and component-based design approaches within WordPress environments.\nTroubleshoot and resolve complex front-end, usability, accessibility, and performance issues.\nParticipate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog refinement, demos, and retrospectives.\nPartner with product owners and stakeholders to identify opportunities for digital experience improvements.\nProvide technical guidance and mentorship to developers and newly onboarded team members.\nSupport modernization initiatives involving websites, applications, mobile platforms, analytics, and emerging technologies across MODES III.\nContribute to requirements gathering, solution design, and implementation planning efforts.\nDocument development standards, accessibility guidance, reusable components, and implementation best practices.\nQualifications\nClearance Requirement\nMust hold an active Secret clearance, supported by a Tier 3 background investigation. \nEducation (Required)\nBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Web Development, Software Engineering, or a related field. \nExperience (Required)\nMinimum 7 years of professional experience in front-end development. \nExperience supporting enterprise websites, content management systems, or digital platforms.\nExperience with WordPress development, theming, customization, and content management.\nExperience implementing accessible, responsive, and mobile-friendly user experiences.\nExperience supporting Agile development teams.\nExperience collaborating with designers, business stakeholders, and technical teams.\nTechnical Knowledge (Required)\nStrong proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and responsive design techniques.\nStrong WordPress development and administration experience.\nExperience with WCAG, Section 508, accessibility testing, and accessibility remediation.\nExperience integrating APIs and dynamic content into web applications.\nAbility to translate UX designs into production-ready user interfaces.\nUnderstanding of content management systems and digital experience platforms.\nExperience troubleshooting complex front-end and user experience issues.\nTechnical Knowledge (Preferred)\nExperience supporting the Military OneSource website or other MC&FP digital platforms.\nExperience with modern front-end frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue.\nExperience supporting mobile applications and responsive digital products.\nFamiliarity with Drupal, headless CMS architectures, or modern digital experience platforms.\nExperience with analytics, customer experience metrics, and digital performance optimization.\nExperience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, DevSecOps, and cloud-based environments.\nFamiliarity with product management, requirements analysis, and digital modernization initiatives.\nCertifications (Preferred)\nIAAP CPACC, WAS, or CPWA.\nDHS Trusted Tester Certification.\nSecurity+.\nITIL v4 Foundation.\nFront-End Development, UX/UI, Accessibility, or Product Management certifications.\nSkills\nStrong front-end development and WordPress engineering capabilities.\nStrong accessibility and Section 508 expertise.\nAbility to balance technical implementation with user experience objectives.\nExcellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.\nAbility to mentor team members and support organizational growth.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.\nHigh attention to detail and commitment to quality.\nAbility to contribute across websites, applications, accessibility, customer experience, and digital modernization efforts.\nAbility to thrive in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.\nDesire to expand beyond traditional front-end development and support evolving MODES III digital services.\nOur Equal Employment Opportunity Policy\nEEO and Affirmative Action Policy: DecisionPoint Corporation is an Equal Employment Opportunity and Affirmative Action employer.
