The ideal candidate is an experienced front-end developer who has significant hands-on experience developing applications in Oracle APEX, rather than simply supporting or administering existing APEX applications. The developer should be comfortable extending APEX using JavaScript, HTML, and CSS and working with SQL, PL/SQL, REST APIs, and Oracle database-driven applications.\nThis position is fully remote.\nDuties & Responsibilities\nThe Front End Developer - Oracle APEX will:Oracle APEX Development\nDesign, develop, enhance, test, and maintain web applications using Oracle Application Express (APEX).\nDevelop and configure APEX pages, regions, forms, reports, interactive grids, navigation components, shared components, and other user-interface elements.\nUse APEX Page Designer, Dynamic Actions, validations, computations, processes, and shared components to implement application functionality.\nDevelop responsive and user-friendly application interfaces using APEX capabilities combined with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.\nCustomize APEX templates, themes, and page components to meet application and user-experience requirements.\nDevelop reusable APEX components and common UI patterns to improve consistency across applications.\nTroubleshoot and resolve APEX application issues involving page processing, session state, validations, dynamic actions, navigation, and application behavior.\nSupport the modernization and enhancement of existing Oracle APEX applications.\nParticipate in application releases, testing, deployment, troubleshooting, and production support.\nFront End Development\nDevelop responsive, accessible, and intuitive web interfaces.\nCreate and maintain front-end functionality using HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, and Oracle APEX.\nTranslate functional requirements, wireframes, and designs into working application interfaces.\nImprove usability, navigation, page layout, forms, workflows, and other interactive application components.\nEnsure interfaces function consistently across supported browsers, devices, and screen sizes.\nIdentify and correct front-end defects, display problems, validation issues, and usability concerns.\nWork with UX and content personnel to implement application interfaces that provide a consistent user experience.\nParticipate in peer reviews and contribute to front-end development standards and reusable design patterns.\nApplication & Integration Development\nWork with backend developers and database specialists to integrate the APEX front end with application data and business logic.\nDevelop and maintain SQL and PL/SQL necessary to support APEX application functionality.\nCreate and consume RESTful APIs and web services to integrate APEX applications with other enterprise systems.\nTroubleshoot issues involving application interfaces, data retrieval, REST integrations, authentication, and application processing.\nWork with technical teams to diagnose issues that span the user interface, APEX application layer, APIs, and Oracle database.\nSupport secure data exchange and application integration requirements.\nParticipate in integration testing and validation of application functionality.\nAccessibility & User Experience\nDevelop applications with accessibility and usability incorporated throughout the development lifecycle.\nSupport Section 508 accessibility requirements applicable to federal digital services.\nImplement accessible forms, navigation, controls, error messages, and interactive components.\nWork with QA and accessibility personnel to identify and remediate user-interface defects.\nIncorporate feedback from users, product owners, and UX personnel to continuously improve application usability.\nDevelopment & Project Support\nParticipate in requirements analysis, design discussions, development, testing, deployment, and application support.\nWork closely with product owners, Operations Managers, developers, database administrators, testers, UX personnel, and government stakeholders.\nEstimate development activities and communicate technical risks, dependencies, and constraints.\nDocument application functionality, technical solutions, configurations, and development decisions.\nParticipate in code reviews, testing activities, defect resolution, and release preparation.\nSupport Agile development activities and collaborate with team members to meet sprint and release objectives.\nTroubleshoot production application issues and support root-cause analysis and corrective actions.\nQualifications\nClearance Requirement\nMust hold or be able to maintain Secret clearance.\nEducation\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Web Development, or a related technical discipline preferred.\nRelevant professional development experience may be considered in place of a degree when permitted by contract requirements.\nExperience\n3-5 years of professional front-end, web, or application development experience.\nStrong hands-on Oracle APEX development experience required.\nDemonstrated experience building and enhancing applications using Oracle APEX rather than solely administering or supporting APEX environments.\nExperience developing responsive web interfaces using JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.\nExperience developing application functionality using Oracle SQL and PL/SQL.\nExperience troubleshooting web applications across the UI, application, integration, and data layers.\nExperience working as part of a cross-functional software development team.\nFederal government or DoD application development experience preferred.\nTechnical Knowledge\nRequired\n Strong proficiency with Oracle Application Express (APEX).\nHands-on experience with APEX Page Designer, Dynamic Actions, Shared Components, forms, reports, Interactive Reports, and Interactive Grids.\nStrong knowledge of HTML5, CSS, and JavaScript.\nWorking knowledge of Oracle SQL and PL/SQL.\nExperience developing responsive web-based application interfaces.\nExperience consuming or integrating RESTful APIs/web services.\nUnderstanding of relational databases and data-driven application development.\nExperience debugging and troubleshooting application and front-end problems.\nUnderstanding of software development lifecycle practices, including requirements, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance.\nPreferred\nExperience with Oracle REST Data Services (ORDS).\nExperience implementing authentication, authorization, application roles, and access controls within APEX.\nExperience customizing APEX Universal Theme, templates, and reusable UI components.\nExperience with application performance troubleshooting and optimization.\nFamiliarity with Git or other source/version-control systems.\nExperience working within Agile/Scrum development teams.\nKnowledge of CI/CD concepts and automated application deployment.\nFamiliarity with Section 508/WCAG accessibility requirements.\nExperience developing applications within secure federal or DoD environments.\nSkills\nStrong
