This role will take ownership of front-end development using React and JavaScript while contributing to back-end services built with Java and Spring Boot.\nThe developer will help modernize enterprise applications that support military freight transportation, transforming complex business requirements into intuitive, reliable, and maintainable software. The ideal candidate can independently deliver features, establish reusable front-end development patterns, and collaborate with functional analysts, UI/UX designers, developers, testers, and DevSecOps engineers throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).\nThis position is fully remote.\nDuties & Responsibilities\nDesign, develop, and maintain React applications that support GFM modernization, taking ownership of front-end features from technical design through delivery.\n\nCollaborate with functional analysts and UI/UX designers to translate requirements and designs into responsive, accessible, and user-friendly interfaces.\n\nDevelop reusable React components and consistent approaches to state management, navigation, forms, validation, and error handling.\n\nIntegrate React applications with RESTful APIs and contribute to the development and maintenance of back-end services using Java and Spring Boot.\n\nModernize legacy functionality while preserving essential business rules and supporting continuity for users.\n\nWrite maintainable, secure code and automated tests; participate in code reviews and mentor other developers in React and front-end development practices.\n\nTroubleshoot issues across the front end, APIs, and back-end services, addressing performance, reliability, and usability concerns.\n\nCollaborate with DevSecOps engineers to integrate applications and automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and support deployment across environments.\n\nWork with testers to validate functionality, resolve defects, and ensure features meet acceptance criteria.\n\nContribute to technical planning, estimates, and documentation, and communicate implementation options, dependencies, and risks to technical and non-technical stakeholders.\n\nQualifications\nRequired Qualifications\nAbility to obtain a Secret clearance.\n\nMinimum of five years of experience in software development or a similar role.\n\nActive IAT Level II certification; CompTIA Security+ CE highly preferred.\n\nBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or another technical discipline related to designing information systems.\n\nStrong, recent hands-on experience developing and maintaining production applications using React and JavaScript, including functional components, hooks, component composition, and state management.\n\nProficiency in HTML and CSS, including responsive layouts and cross-browser compatibility.\n\nExperience integrating front-end applications with RESTful APIs, including asynchronous data handling, authentication flows, and error handling.\n\nProficiency in Java and Spring Boot for developing and maintaining back-end application functionality and services.\n\nStrong understanding of software design principles, reusable components, and maintainable application architecture.\n\nExperience writing automated tests and using browser developer tools to troubleshoot application behavior and performance.\n\nExperience using Git, participating in code reviews, and working with CI/CD tools such as GitLab or Jenkins.\n\nExperience working in Linux environments to support application development and troubleshooting.\n\nExperience using Jira and Confluence, or similar tools, for work tracking and technical documentation.\n\nStrong communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently, collaborate across disciplines, and manage competing priorities.\n\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience developing React applications with TypeScript.\n\nExperience modernizing legacy user interfaces, including applications built with AngularJS or similar frameworks.\n\nExperience with front-end testing tools such as Jest, React Testing Library, Cypress, or Playwright.\n\nExperience implementing accessible interfaces and working with reusable component libraries or design systems.\n\nFamiliarity with containerized applications, Kubernetes, and AWS cloud environments.\n\nExperience supporting Department of Defense or other large enterprise systems with complex business workflows.\n\nOur Equal Employment Opportunity Policy\nEEO and Affirmative Action Policy: DecisionPoint Corporation is an Equal Employment Opportunity and Affirmative Action employer.
