This role creates repeatable automated test coverage, maintains representative test data, integrates test execution with CI/CD pipelines, and produces reproducible results and objective verification evidence.\nThe Integration/Test Automation Engineer works with software developers, API and integration engineers, functional testers, architects, cybersecurity personnel, CI/CD engineers, operations teams, and Government stakeholders. The position helps identify defects earlier, improves regression coverage, validates interfaces and data exchanges, and provides reliable quality feedback throughout the software-development lifecycle.\nThis position is remote, with Chicago-area candidates preferred.\nNote: By applying to this position, you acknowledge and consent to having your resume included in an active competitive government contract bid.\nDuties & Responsibilities\nThe Integration/Test Automation Engineer will:\nDesign, develop, execute, maintain, and improve automated software tests. \nBuild automated regression suites covering critical application capabilities and mission workflows. \nDevelop API tests that validate requests, responses, schemas, authentication, authorization, error handling, and business rules. \nDevelop integration tests that validate interfaces, adapters, services, data exchanges, dependencies, and end-to-end processing. \nDevelop load and performance tests to evaluate throughput, response time, concurrency, resource utilization, stability, and failure behavior. \nTranslate requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, interface specifications, data mappings, and technical designs into automated test coverage. \nMaintain traceability among automated tests, requirements, interfaces, defects, and release content. \nDesign and maintain representative test data for positive, negative, boundary, exception, and high-volume scenarios. \nDevelop repeatable processes for test-data creation, setup, masking, refresh, reset, reconciliation, and cleanup. \nProtect sensitive data and use approved synthetic, masked, or controlled test data. \nIntegrate automated tests into approved continuous-integration and continuous-delivery pipelines. \nConfigure appropriate triggers, quality gates, result thresholds, notifications, and failure conditions. \nEnsure automated tests provide timely and actionable feedback to development, testing, integration, and operations teams. \nMaintain automated execution across development, integration, test, staging, and other approved environments. \nImprove test reliability by identifying and correcting unstable, inconsistent, environment-dependent, or non-deterministic tests. \nProduce complete and reproducible test results, logs, reports, metrics, and objective evidence. \nDocument test configurations, dependencies, data conditions, execution procedures, expected results, and known limitations. \nAnalyze failed tests and distinguish product defects from test-script, test-data, environment, configuration, or dependency issues. \nCreate clear defect reports with reproducible steps, expected and actual results, evidence, and affected requirements. \nSupport defect triage, root-cause analysis, correction verification, and regression testing. \nCoordinate with API and integration engineers to validate service contracts, mappings, schemas, data transformations, and interoperability. \nCoordinate with CI/CD engineers to improve automated execution, artifact retention, test reporting, and pipeline reliability. \nCoordinate with cybersecurity personnel to validate security corrections and integrate approved security testing where applicable. \nSupport Government demonstrations, user acceptance testing, release testing, and operational validation. \nProvide automation coverage, execution status, defect trends, performance results, and quality risks for release-readiness decisions. \nParticipate in sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily coordination, reviews, demonstrations, and retrospectives. \nMaintain test source code, scripts, configurations, data, and documentation in approved version-control repositories. \nParticipate in peer reviews, code reviews, test reviews, and technical walkthroughs. \nContribute to continuous improvement of automation frameworks, test data, CI/CD integration, performance testing, and quality practices.\nQualifications\nRequired Qualifications\nCandidates must meet all of the following requirements:\nActive Secret clearance or higher. \nBachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, systems engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience where permitted by the applicable labor category. \nMinimum of ten years of relevant experience in enterprise architecture, systems architecture, systems engineering, solution architecture, software architecture, or a related technical discipline. \nExperience developing enterprise or system Concepts of Operations. \nExperience conducting technical analyses and trade studies. \nExperience decomposing mission or business needs into functional, component, interface, security, performance, and derived requirements. \nExperience defining and documenting system and external-interface requirements. \nExperience supporting complex systems integration across software, data, infrastructure, cloud, network, security, or external systems. \nExperience designing scalable, extensible, resilient, and supportable enterprise solutions. \nExperience developing technical assumptions and inputs for rough-order-of-magnitude estimates. \nExperience developing current-state, target-state, and transition architectures. \nExperience producing or reviewing architecture diagrams, System Design Documents, Interface Control Documents, Interface Design Documents, requirements-traceability records, and architecture decision records. \nExperience communicating architecture decisions, options, risks, dependencies, and tradeoffs to technical and nontechnical stakeholders. \nStrong analytical, facilitation, technical-writing, presentation, and problem-solving skills. \nPreferred Qualifications\nThe following qualifications are preferred but are not required:\nCISSP-ISSAP certification. \nCISSP-ISSEP certification. \nA certification formerly recognized for DoD 8570.01-M IASAE Level III and aligned to the applicable current
