The engineer will analyze, design, configure, test, and sustain network infrastructure supporting secure voice, video, and data communications across operational Air-to-GIG Gateways and the EACN Systems Integration Laboratory.\nThe Network Tier 3 Engineer will support network architecture, configuration management, troubleshooting, performance optimization, technology integration, and implementation of approved hardware and software changes. The engineer will also help maintain the EACN baseline configuration and ensure modifications are tested in the Systems Integration Laboratory before deployment to operational environments.\nThis position requires on-site performance at Scott Air Force Base, Illinois, and may require travel to Joint Base Andrews, Joint Base Lewis-McChord, or other supported locations.\nNote: By applying to this position, you acknowledge and consent to having your resume included in an active competitive government contract bid.\nDuties & Responsibilities\nThe Network Tier 3 Engineer will:\nProvide advanced network analysis, design, engineering, and technical support for EACN infrastructure. \nEvaluate and recommend technologies that improve network performance, resilience, security, and mission capability. \nMaintain the EACN baseline configuration and supporting Systems Integration Laboratory environment. \nInstall and functionally test software versions, patches, technical orders, security updates, and configuration changes. \nValidate hardware, software, and network modifications in the laboratory before operational deployment. \nTroubleshoot complex network issues affecting operational gateways, connected platforms, and supported mission systems. \nConfigure and sustain routers, switches, firewalls, servers, encryption devices, VoIP components, and network-management tools. \nSupport network upgrades, equipment replacement, system cutovers, and integration of new transport capabilities. \nDevelop and maintain network installation guides, topology diagrams, checklists, configuration records, and technical documentation. \nCreate scripts, executables, graphs, and maps supporting network configuration, monitoring, and analysis. \nMonitor network availability, utilization, outages, capacity, and overall system health. \nPerform system backups, disk management, patching, and approved server-maintenance activities. \nDesign and implement fault-tolerant and disaster-recovery solutions for network devices and servers. \nSupport Voice over Internet Protocol capabilities across the laboratory and operational gateway environments. \nCoordinate technical activities with Government engineers, cybersecurity personnel, site technicians, and mission partners. \nTrain incoming Government and contractor personnel on EACN network configurations and operating standards. \nEnsure network changes comply with DISA STIGs, USCYBERCOM directives, Air Force requirements, and approved configuration-management processes. \nQualifications\nClearance Requirement:\nMust hold an active Top Secret clearance.\nEducation:\nBachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Network Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field.\nExperience:\nMinimum five years of relevant network engineering experience. \nExperience designing, configuring, troubleshooting, and sustaining enterprise LAN and WAN environments. \nExperience supporting routers, switches, firewalls, VLANs, VPNs, TCP/IP, network-management systems, and secure communications infrastructure. \nExperience working in classified or mission-critical Department of Defense environments preferred. \nExperience supporting geographically dispersed operational sites, test laboratories, or integration environments preferred. \nTechnical Knowledge:\nAdvanced knowledge of routing, switching, network architecture, troubleshooting, and performance optimization. \nKnowledge of Cisco network technologies, firewalls, encryption, SNMP, DNS, VLANs, VPNs, IPv4, and IPv6. \nFamiliarity with Windows and Linux servers, virtualization, storage systems, and VoIP environments. \nExperience using network monitoring and analysis tools such as SolarWinds, Splunk, or comparable platforms. \nFamiliarity with DISA STIGs, cybersecurity directives, configuration management, and laboratory-to-production testing processes. \nAbility to develop scripts and automation supporting network configuration and analysis. \nCertifications:\nCisco Certified Network Professional certification required at the time of contract award. \nAppropriate DoDM 8140.03 and IAT Level II certification required. \nAdditional Cisco, cybersecurity, Linux, Microsoft, or VMware certifications preferred. \nSkills:\nStrong network troubleshooting and analytical abilities. \nExcellent technical documentation and communication skills. \nAbility to manage multiple engineering priorities and technical issues. \nAbility to collaborate with Government engineers, cybersecurity teams, and site personnel. \nAbility to perform duties on-site at Scott Air Force Base, Illinois, and travel as required. \nCompensation: Anticipated salary range is $79,759.00-$88,215.00 per year\nOur Equal Employment Opportunity Policy\nEEO and Affirmative Action Policy: DecisionPoint Corporation is an Equal Employment Opportunity and Affirmative Action employer.
