This role ensures reliable performance of Oracle database systems across development, test, staging, and production environments while maintaining security, availability, and compliance with DoD requirements.\nThe Oracle DBA is responsible for monitoring, backup execution, schema updates, indexing optimization, and troubleshooting operational issues that impact mission-critical applications and data flows.\nThis position is fully remote.\nDuties & Responsibilities\nThe Oracle Database Administrator will:\nPerform daily Oracle database administration, monitoring, maintenance, and health checks. \nDevelop and manage maintenance plans, job schedules, and database housekeeping routines. \nExecute and validate backups, restores, and recovery procedures to ensure data integrity. \nApply patching, version updates, and configuration changes across environments. \nSupport schema updates, index optimization, table maintenance, and data structure enhancements. \nTroubleshoot performance issues, query bottlenecks, and system errors across dev/test/prod environments. \nMaintain auditing, logging, encryption, and access controls in accordance with DoD cybersecurity requirements. \nDocument database configurations, operational processes, and environment baselines. \nCollaborate with development teams to validate stored procedures, queries, and database interactions. \nCoordinate with cybersecurity staff to remediate vulnerabilities, STIG findings, and compliance gaps. \nSupport release cycles, refreshes, data migrations, and environment synchronization activities. \nProvide recommendations for performance improvement, storage utilization, and operational efficiency. \nQualifications\nClearance Requirement\nMust hold an active Top Secret clearance, supported by a Tier 5 background investigation.\nEducation (Required)\nBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Database Administration, or a related discipline.\nExperience (Required)\nMinimum 5 years of experience in Oracle database administration. \nExperience performing daily maintenance, patching, tuning, and operational monitoring. \nExperience supporting database operations across development, test, and production environments. \nExperience with indexing, query performance troubleshooting, and schema management. \nExperience applying DoD security requirements to Oracle database systems. \nTechnical Knowledge (Required)\nStrong expertise with Oracle Database technologies and administration tools. \nKnowledge of RMF controls, STIGs, encryption, and access control implementation. \nProficiency in SQL, PL/SQL, indexing strategies, and query optimization. \nFamiliarity with backup and recovery tools, RMAN, and Oracle data utilities. \nExperience with monitoring platforms and performance analytics. \nTechnical Knowledge (Preferred)\nExperience with IL5 cloud-hosted database environments. \nExperience supporting CI/CD or DevSecOps workflows involving database changes. \nFamiliarity with other relational database platforms. \nCertifications\nRequired:\nCompTIA Security+ \nOracle Database Administrator certification (OCA, OCP, or equivalent) \nPreferred:\nAWS Database Specialty \nCISSP or CCSP \nSkills\nStrong diagnostic and troubleshooting ability for Oracle database issues. \nClear written and verbal communication skills for collaborating with technical teams. \nExcellent attention to detail, accuracy, and documentation discipline. \nAbility to manage multiple tasks across distributed environments. \nCommitment to secure, stable, and optimized database operations. \nOur Equal Employment Opportunity Policy\nEEO and Affirmative Action Policy: DecisionPoint Corporation is an Equal Employment Opportunity and Affirmative Action employer.
