They also mentor other developers and cross-train across critical components to improve delivery continuity and reduce key-person dependencies.\nThese positions are remote, with Chicago-area Senior Full-Stack Software Developers will:\nDesign, develop, test, integrate, document, deploy, and maintain mission-critical software capabilities. \nImplement complex features and modernization enhancements across front-end, application, service, API, and data-access layers. \nTranslate approved requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, interface requirements, and design specifications into secure software solutions. \nDevelop intuitive and accessible web interfaces in coordination with UI/UX and accessibility specialists. \nDesign, implement, document, and maintain secure application programming interfaces and service integrations. \nDevelop reusable components, shared services, libraries, and software patterns. \nSupport application modernization, refactoring, technical-debt reduction, and replacement of obsolete components. \nEvaluate existing code and recommend improvements to reliability, maintainability, scalability, security, and performance. \nImplement approved security fixes and coordinate remediation with cybersecurity, testing, and platform teams. \nApply secure coding practices throughout design, development, testing, integration, and deployment. \nDevelop and maintain unit tests, integration tests, regression tests, and other automated quality checks. \nParticipate in peer reviews, code reviews, design reviews, and architecture discussions. \nReview source code for correctness, security, performance, testability, maintainability, and compliance with established development standards. \nDiagnose and resolve complex defects, integration failures, performance issues, and production-support concerns. \nSupport root-cause analysis and implement durable corrective actions. \nUse approved version-control practices, including branching, merging, pull requests, tagging, and release management. \nSupport continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines, automated builds, testing, and deployment activities. \nDevelop and maintain technical documentation, API documentation, build instructions, installation procedures, and release artifacts. \nSupport sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily coordination, demonstrations, reviews, retrospectives, and release-readiness activities. \nProvide accurate estimates and identify technical risks, dependencies, assumptions, and implementation constraints. \nCoordinate work with architecture, infrastructure, cloud, database, cybersecurity, testing, training, and operations teams. \nMentor junior and journeyman developers through technical guidance, code reviews, pairing, and knowledge sharing. \nCross-train on critical application components and provide coverage during absences, incidents, releases, and priority remediation activities. \nSupport Government demonstrations, user acceptance testing, operational validation, and stakeholder feedback. \nProtect sensitive data and comply with applicable federal, DoD, security, privacy, and configuration-management requirements. \nContribute to continuous improvement of software-engineering, testing, documentation, and delivery practices. \nQualifications\nRequired Qualifications\nCandidates must possess all the following:\nAn active Secret clearance or higher. \nA bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, software engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent permitted by the applicable labor category. \nAt least eight years of relevant professional experience. \nExperience developing, integrating, testing, and maintaining software applications. \nExperience working across both front-end and back-end application layers. \nExperience designing, developing, integrating, or consuming application programming interfaces. \nExperience developing and maintaining unit tests. \nExperience applying secure coding principles and correcting software security issues. \nExperience using version-control systems and structured source-code management practices. \nAbility to implement complex software features and modernization enhancements. \nAbility to review source code and provide actionable technical feedback. \nAbility to diagnose and resolve complex software, integration, performance, or security problems. \nAbility to mentor developers and cross-train across critical application components. \nAbility to collaborate with architects, analysts, designers, testers, cybersecurity personnel, platform engineers, and Government stakeholders. \nStrong analytical, troubleshooting, technical documentation, and communication skills. \nPreferred Qualifications\nThe following qualifications are preferred:\nA relevant software-development or cloud certification from AWS, Microsoft, Google Cloud, Oracle, Red Hat, or another recognized provider. \nExperience supporting federal or Department of Defense software-development or modernization programs. \nExperience developing mission-critical, regulated, security-sensitive, or high-availability systems. \nExperience with modern JavaScript or TypeScript frameworks and component-based front-end development. \nExperience with Java, C#, .NET, Python, Node.js, or comparable server-side technologies. \nExperience designing and implementing RESTful APIs, web services, asynchronous integrations, or event-driven services. \nExperience with relational databases, data modeling, structured query languages, or object-relational mapping technologies. \nExperience with cloud-native application development and services hosted in AWS, Azure, or another approved cloud environment. \nExperience with containers, microservices, infrastructure automation, or modern application-platform technologies. \nExperience with automated testing frameworks, static-code analysis, dependency scanning, or software-composition analysis. \nExperience with continuous integration and continuous delivery tools and DevSecOps practices. \nExperience with Agile software delivery and tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, Confluence, GitHub, GitLab, or comparable platforms. \nFamiliarity with Section 508 accessibility requirements and accessible web-development practices. \nFamiliarity
