This role guides communication planning efforts, aligns messaging with mission priorities, and ensures strategies reflect leadership direction and stakeholder needs.\nThe Strategic Planner collaborates closely with communications, program, policy, and technical partners to build forward-looking communication plans that support enterprise-wide objectives and drive consistent, mission-focused messaging.\nThis position is fully remote. \nDuties & Responsibilities\nThe Strategic Planner will:\nLead the development of integrated communications strategies aligned with mission and leadership priorities. \nTranslate organizational goals and policy themes into actionable communications plans. \nCoordinate cross-functional planning with communications, program, policy, IT, and operational teams. \nDevelop strategic frameworks, message architectures, and communication roadmaps. \nConduct environmental scanning, stakeholder analysis, and communication risk assessments. \nSupport development of long-range communication calendars, campaign sequencing, and outreach planning. \nProduce strategic briefs, planning decks, talking points, and executive communications artifacts. \nEnsure alignment and consistency of messaging across digital, print, and stakeholder engagement channels. \nSupport metrics analysis and communication performance reporting to inform strategy refinement. \nFacilitate planning sessions, workshops, and strategic communications reviews. \nIdentify opportunities for communications modernization, integration, and optimization. \nQualifications\nClearance Requirement\nCandidate must possess a Tier 2 Moderate Risk Public Trust (from any federal agency) or an active Secret clearance or higher.\nEducation (Required)\nBachelor’s degree in Strategic Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Business Strategy, Public Policy, or a related field.\nExperience (Required)\nMinimum 7 years of experience supporting strategic communications, communications planning, or public affairs. \nExperience developing integrated communications strategies for federal, DoD, or enterprise organizations. \nExperience aligning messaging with mission, policy, and leadership priorities. \nDemonstrated ability to manage multi-channel communications planning. \nTechnical Knowledge (Required)\nUnderstanding of strategic planning methodologies and narrative alignment. \nFamiliarity with communications governance, messaging frameworks, and editorial processes. \nExperience developing strategic content artifacts such as briefs, frameworks, and communication plans. \nTechnical Knowledge (Preferred)\nExperience with analytics, communication performance measurement, or stakeholder mapping tools. \nFamiliarity with digital strategy, UX alignment, or content architecture. \nCertifications (Preferred)\nProfessional communications or strategic planning certifications \nITIL v4 or project management certifications \nSkills\nStrong written and verbal communication abilities suitable for senior audiences. \nExcellent planning, facilitation, and coordination skills. \nAbility to distill complex priorities into clear communication strategies. \nStrong analytical, synthesis, and strategic thinking capabilities. \nHigh attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously. \nOur Equal Employment Opportunity Policy\nEEO and Affirmative Action Policy: DecisionPoint Corporation is an Equal Employment Opportunity and Affirmative Action employer.
